Apple the search for more money continues.
For me I just have not got the money to buy into this lifestyle.
Just need a phone and not an intrusive expensive product...for the rich.

Considering that his is a practice in some countrys for cars I don't see why it would not work with phones....Basically you pay for a rent...you can either pay for ex like 24 months own the phone or get a renown contract and get a new one each year or 2 years etc....Imo its good as long as they dont price the eu=dollar and in eu 30 euros in us 20 dollars...cuz thats a rip off

This sounds like Apple's way of doing carrier like subsidized payments much how bill credit are handled at the carrier level to keep you "locked" into the eco system. Many carriers only have great in offers when adding a line or trading in a device. If the subscription is a down payment with x amount of monthly payments, this will certainly be welcomes and give carriers reason to change some of their pricing models

Even $20 for that is a steep price, and it will of course be 30 EUR in Europe, and if you scratch the screen a bit then you have to pay the replacement cost - another $300 for a new screen.
I don't know who would use this service.

Come to think about it, this is a good idea for someone like me who don't use iOS. I still don't see the need to own an iPhone, so I do welcome this idea.

Better to do this way:
I bought an iPhone 13 from Cash Converters (like new, with box and everything) with £670 instead of £780 brand new. So I saved £110. When iPhone 14 will be launched I will sell my iPhone 13 with £500, or £470. Total loss: £200.
£200 : 12 months = £16.5 a month. I don’t think that Apple lease offer will be cheaper than that.

I really hate the word "Free" and that it's used so casually in everything paid. It's a bundle you get with the price you pay so it's not a free in anything. Things you get with what you pay is in the price and not for free. It's like the Playstation and xbox subscription where you get to play some games each month that they say is Free games. How as these free games if you cant play them without subscription and the subscription isn't for free as you need to pay for it to have access to this so called free content. As it's same with this apple service also.
But this word FREE is a scamming method like a magic word to fool people

Actually it is much easier on the Apple ecosystem. No sd slots rubbish.
Software restore on the MacOS / iPadOS / iOS is so easy and pain free. If they are able to provide user with 2TB iCloud storage, people can easily change without any problems. Provided they have good network access.

If this scheme goes well and has a lot of users, it's likely that Apple will increase the prices of its phones to push users to rent its phones.
