Maybe declining sales will finally wake up that dumb CEO and made him redesign their flagships to pack all features again instead of taking them away.

a friend of mine just got an S22 on a financing plan (that's what the carriers do here in Canada), he paid $0 in-store, and he's paying $31 financing on top of his plan, so they discounted the price by $630.

or maybe the sales are not to good because they kept removing features year by year, no microsd, no jack , lower resolution, back to plastic, pretty much the same tiny camera sensors for years, price increased, my s10 was my last phone after bein with samsung for 10 years
i got a p40 pro which is so much better than samsung but huawei went down the hill too because of the sanctions so on android the only choice left is probably a xiaomi now

            Samsung over last few years

            - removal of heart monitor
            - Removal of IR beam
            - Removal of jack and sd slot
            - No accessories in the box
            - Cam issues not fixed ( too much NR, too much sharpening, horrible colours , bad focus )
            - Screen downgrades
            - Reduced battery (s22)
            - Gorilla victus+ is breaking easier than gg6, should have kept victus.

I understand reducing cpu activity because of heat. This was done on phones with 810. But letting benchmark bypass this is zero honesty.

              After note 7, now this

Oh, are we talking about Vanilla S22?
Yeah, me neither. I thought vanilla s22 "was" THE meme
I personally think the low battery is the biggest hole in their reputation. Micro sd and charger are gone since vanilla s21, yet there were enough people to buy it.
When my 5 year old s8 can still do one day, at 1440p. While s22 with 5g, 120hz "Variable" refresh rate and SD8G1 under the hood can barely do half a day, you know you're in your own league of the definiton of the meme xD
AND if we're talking about S22+ and Ultra, I don't think they're worth mentioning. Most people have, are and will still have a preference for the vanilla version. Plus version is the same, just bigger size and battery. Ultra version is just for the most expensive.
What's more depressing, seeing Samsung's reputation decimated since s21 FE announcement, OR S22 being the last compact phone, crippled due to crappy battery ?

Hahaha to those toxic fanboys that defended Samsung like the company can do no wrong. Your 'Samsung is always right' attitude is the thing that will bring disaster to the company.

We call it "Karma". Samsung is supposed to be an iPhone alternative for having features of microSD and a 3.5mm jack. Now gone. You are copying Apple, so go down together with them.

How do they know that it has anything to do with GOS? most buyers aren't really tech savvy and they wouldn't be remotely aware of any issues regarding it

Samsung seems to be in denial, damage control at its finest. every year, sales of Samsung flagship phones are declining since the days of the S9 series. I think consumers are now finally realizing that a yearly upgrade, without really that much of an upgrade, is not worth and Samsung is taking the hit

as for me, it SCARED me definitely. the removal of practical useful features like the headphone jack, SD card and now the charger...that really stirred me clear of Samsung from now on.

Now I upgrade them every year(since the deals are so good from Samsung and makes the launch Galaxy S phones very inexpensive). Since I went from an S21 to an S22.

So far, I have been very pleased with my S22. The battery life is worse than my S21 was. And my battery level is lower on my S22 when I get home from work than my S21 was. But I can still easily go all day without needing to charge my S22.

Longer batter, who would want that, right? Better to go berserk with the clocks and whine over internet that you have to charge your phone like 3 times a day.

Or maybe, just maybe, that people aren't interested in the product anymore, especially since Samsung keeps removing features and the phones don't change much from year to year.

Well apple had Battery gate, Samsung have GOS scandal glad Xiaomi have only tons of ads which can be turned off in settings and cost way less than said two brands.

Who cares about gos, give me back my sdcard.

This is such a leap of faith, it's simply ridiculous and patently false.

Most people who buy smartphones buy what's new, cool and known to them.

I'm pretty sure 95% of Samsung phones users have never heard about this "fiasco".

As to why sales are slowing down, I've no idea. I think it's more down to the fact that phones have become so good recently there's no point buying a new model every year. The update cycle has increased/slowed down all around the world. People tend to hold on to their devices a lot longer. I am still rocking my OnePlus 6 and I see no reasons to replace it. Why? Will a new smartphone allow me to do something my old phone cannot do? I don't play games, the performance of my phone is more than enough for me.

Samsung is just in denial at this point. Most people don't really care about the GOS scandal because it's already been fixed. The declining sales have been happening every year since they started removing features. Bring back the 3.5mm headphone jack and micro SD slot and then we'll see.

Giving European users garbage Exynos and slap on the same name and same price as Snapdragon model is an insult. They need to stop doing this crap.
