HarmonyOS 3.0 coming in September, first betas to roll out next month

That's slightly later than originally planned. The update promises to add polish to the UI and improve performance.

    It will be interesting if HarmonyOS 3.0 turns out to be better than iOS and Android while maintaining compatibility with Android apps. It seems like the software ecosystem is improving in leaps and bounds. They just have to solve the hardware restrictions brought on by US sanctions.

      Many people can't see it. Including you. HarmonyOS is an OS with Android UI skin. Not android with another UI skin. Most people are familiar with the design, layout, control, that's why such UI, but will slowly go their own way.

        Huawei can't even make their own smartphone OS. Just a fork of Android and put a skin and then called it Harmony OS 🤦🏻‍♂️

          Huawei just needs to make a complete OS replacement not an Android skin.

            I'm impressed Huawei is still putting some effort to improve app support without Google.

                Therefore, HarmonyOS for any of those devices cannot be just a skin.

                Neither is it just a 'skin' on Phones and tablets because there is a lot of core Huawei code present within EMUI like the AI runtime environment. Also EMUI 12 contains core elements of HarmonyOS.

                        All Android makers start working on their stuff from the AOSP code.

                        OneUI, MIUI, ColorOS, etc are all developed in the same way and thats why their UI are so different sometimes. Same goes for this HarmonyOS thing.
