17 April 2022
Tablets tried to kill the PC. Then smartphones tried. Now the tables are turning and PCs are running smartphone software.

Why no mention of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc (and Arc S)..? Those had a micro-HDMI port, and paired with the official Live Dock accessory it offered one full-sized USB port to pair a keyboard/mouse combo (Logitech's K400 at the time were the most popular). Coupled with OfficeSuite app already preinstalled and the Movie app, as well as official DualShock3 support, it was a fantastic view into the (then) future in 2011. Too bad Sony (Ericsson) in typical fashion messed up the ad campaign and the dock never got too much notice...

Everyone including the author keep saying Atrix was the first, but I distinctly remember the Arc was announced a few months beforehand (Arc S was released the same year in Q3). But again, typical Sony and they never got the PR aspect nailed down...

I am 38 years old. I had my first PC when I was 15 (Cyrix 6x86). I had my first laptop (Sony Vaio) and my first console (PS3) when I was 26.
Even though I grew up with PC gaming and PC tasks (never had a MacBook or iMac), now at 38, I can't see myself using a PC anymore. I tried to built one maybe 2 years ago (for old times, let's say). Got bored after 3 months of using it. Nowadays I just use my working laptop, pared with a smartphone and a console if I need some casual gaming. I tried tablets too (Acer, Asus, iPad, Samsung), but in my opinon they are just smartphones with bigger screens.

What I am trying to say, it is also about the age of the person. And I saw similar cases with mine at guys that are above 30 years old, without children. So, PC's are still around, but I think they are more common in the category of younger people.
Also PC's are still around, because tablets didn't took of like Steve Job said and thought they will.

with the specs like now, the phone should be able to run Windows and the manufacturer released 1 model for windows like the Galaxy S22 Q, Xiaomi 12 Q, Just a name for the windows version. Idk why if it can't run windows.

Wireless docking would be cool. Something really responsive at 1080/1440p, but that also can do 4K+ with at a reduced framerate+touch input lag.
