For professional content creating environments, being able to send the machine straight back to Apple for repair in case something goes wrong, instead of having to manually troubleshoot which specific components are malfunctioning and replacing them is a huge plus, too.

'Speaking of computers, yes, we technically could have gotten a PC for the money we paid for the Mac. A quick check online shows that we could've built a Ryzen 9 5900X machine with a 12GB Nvidia RTX 3060 and 32GB of RAM for slightly less than the Mac Studio.

But that machine would be a lot bigger, much noisier, and ultimately wouldn't give us the experience we want. We never really found the Windows systems bad, but the ARM-based Macs just fit so much better in our workflow'

    Maybe read the article first?

At that price, I could build a beast of a system with Windows. The only benefit I see in this is that it is portable. And that is it...

Lmao apple is trash. You could have gotten a ROG machine or any real gaming rig for this much that makes the apple look like yesterday's news.

looks decent but no disc drive. the front looks depressing though, hopefully somebody will add some rgb lights on it, it would be fire 👌🔥🔥

Thoughtful reflections. Thanks for sharing. I have a base M1 Air too and it has been a really dependable machine for me so far.

reading this, I'm eager for a Air on M2 / Ultra whatev. DaVinci is really fine on PCs, haven't really had any hiccups over the years and keeps improving! :)

Glad to see that MacOS supposrt is there :)

DaVinci Resolve is actually a pretty good program so long as you have the computer(s) to run it properly. I mean, for free, you shouldn't ask for too much.
