Anonymous, 15 Apr 2022You haven't used a current iPhone, have you? For many,... morethe hell you're talking about? I was only referring to the periscope zoom camera. my whole point is the P30 Pro, to this day, can still take exceptionally well zoomed photos that even the latest iPhone cannot do. try taking 10x zoom shots on the latest iPhone and compare to any phone with a capable periscope lens. do dare tell me if the iPhone will be better
I'm not talking about the overall experience. what I'm stating is simply features that other phones already have but iPhones still do not with the pathetic excuse that it will be better even though that's no always the case

"There is a reason why Apple sells at a premium, why iPhones keep their value far better than any Android, and why iPhones continue to sell well."
it's simply because of the brand, nothing else. in the US they even have a "blue bubble vs green bubble" issue. flashy marketing is working

Or did you miss the part where I said some things just naturally happen as progress goes on and it's not an absolute necessity or demand for "moar of everything" like it is on all Android phones just because of their nature of how disposable they are?

Why the heck no phone camera until this day could shoot sharp, noiseless and without the awful wobbly jello effect in low light? All these advancements in tech but still no solution for this problem

For many, it provides a better user experience than Android, and Apple does photography exceptionally well. Being "first" is important sometimes, and Apple has been there sometimes. But being "first" also can mar user experience, and I've had enough phones that were "first" but failed to deliver to expectations. There is a reason why Apple sells at a premium, why iPhones keep their value far better than any Android, and why iPhones continue to sell well.

iphones still don't have "Multi-tasking", be it split-screen or pop-up/floating windows, except PiP for YT (and maybe some other apps).

damn no iphone 14 for noww. 4 is a unlucky number.

also how did apple added telephoto like "innovation" after android flagships does already have?

The Flip, 15 Apr 2022Samsung still years in advance in hardware than Apple and G... moreeven the Huawei P30 Pro over 3 years ago can achieve very good looking zoom shots. that was 3 years ago. it only has gotten better. Apple is always late to the party and people will say Apple is perfecting it. the ultrawide came late as well but didn't really bring anything new. it was just Apple being late for a lack of innovation

Samsung still years in advance in hardware than Apple and Google. The S21 Ultra from last year is still proof of that.

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2022What looks? I'm still on single camera on my iPhone XR... more"I'm still on single camera on my iPhone XR and I don't need anything else."
"Apple is in no rush to throw as many fancy features at their users and then forget about them like Android phone makers are doing in desperation to sell you something new every single year"

yup, we have another here. been hearing that lame pathetic excuse since day 1. don't tell me you haven't heard of any of these before:
                  - Apple doesn't need a bigger display
                  - Apple doesn't need a resolution over 720p
                  - Apple doesn't need a bigger battery
                  - Apple doesn't need widgets
                  - Apple doesn't need fast charging
                  - Apple doesn't need higher refresh rates
                  - Apple doesn't need split screen multitasking
                  - Apple doesn't need more cameras
                  - Apple doesn't need PiP mode
                  - Apple doesn't need more internal storage

and so much more. the fanboys kept defending their precious iPhones despite lacking in innovation for years. yet here we are, having all of those features in the recent iPhone but isn't really that much different from other phones. the Ultrawide was late to the party yet it was not groundbreaking. and while other features on the list did manage to wow many people, the awesome battery life for example, that's besides the point. the point is Apple DID need those features unlike what the fanboys proclaim.

"This especially applies to 99% of garbage phones that have some token fake cameras bolted on the back just so they can brag about X number of cameras. With one cameras, I just take out my phone and snap photos."

you do realize that there's a lot more Android phones out there that has legitimate multi cam setups? the Redmi Note 10 Pro has a main, ultrawide, and a legitimate macro cam that can shoot very good shots. you not needing them is besides the point, again, it's about Apple actually needing said features than what the fanboys are afraid to admit

"How are you capturing moments without spending 5 minutes picking up the right one? It's pointless."
don't be stupid, you're exaggerating it way too much. it takes seconds to select which camera you need. heck, you don't even need to consciously pick one. need a wider PoV? zoom out and the ultrawide automatically activates. same with zooming in. far from taking 5 mins and being pointless. you're the embodiment that you don't know you need a feature until you use it

you have to know, 15 Apr 2022so that means no more iphone 14😨😨😨😨probably,,
but it doesn't matter is it? 14 or 15

people buy iPhone cuz it's an iPhone,,
doesn't matter if Apple name new it iPhone 22 and price it 2000USD, people will still buy it in en mass!

iPhone 4 back then China wasn't huge market yet and Western people not too keen for number 13 superstition.

Sure there is this tiny percentage of cases where ultra wide would come in handy or a telephoto with 15x zoom, but I'll survive. And so would most of users. It's just natural progression of things that even Apple eventually decides to adopt feature X or Y. Apple is in no rush to throw as many fancy features at their users and then forget about them like Android phone makers are doing in desperation to sell you something new every single year...

[deleted post]They didn't skip iPhone 4. In fact iPhone 4 was one of most popular and most iconic iPhones ever to be made... So much they re-used its flat sides design for iPhone 12. Number 13 is also considered as "unlucky" in a lot of places yet iPhone 13 very much exists. I don't think Apple cares much about superstition.

[deleted post]so that means no more iphone 14😨😨😨😨

notafanboy, 15 Apr 2022What's the excuse for not including periscope camera i... moreSeveral Android oem’s have backed off extended zoom ranges and fallen back on 3x style zoom.

This issue is the lingo that’s used, and Apple are admittedly to blame here. Their main reason for introducing the second telephoto camera back on the iPhone 7 Plus was to enable portrait photography. But they kept on saying the word ‘zoom’. Well it was blatantly obvious that there is little benefit to 2x or 3x zoom outside of portrait focused photos.

I maintain Apple haven’t really looked to tackle proper zoom yet, and all their telephoto efforts have mainly been geared more toward getting better portrait shots.

Hope they eventually adopt a Samsung style solution and offer both and ‘portrait’ styled telephoto as well as a proper ‘zoom’ telephoto camera set up.

Though knowing this site, that won’t stop people complaining about Apple anyway, nothing ever will 🤷

Periscope tech has been same since it was created by Minolta in early 2000s. Only difference is phones change focal length and sensor size based on some factors. Only two brands have used zoom so far while other choose prime lenses.

Apple does not have because did not want to pay for it right now.
