Symbian platform emegerd as the most powerful mobile os.
It is wasteful to compare it with ios or androids.
Every other mobile os has miles to go to evn match its legacy.
Nokia stands as first love with symbian.
And gradually they will do the same with wnds 8 phones in future.
For time being.
For symbian mobiles,
RIP!!!

I am thankful for all the Samsung/HTC/Sony, etc and Android/iOS fans that they are not bashing and trolling here in this thread. Seriously Thank you.

Now the nokia abandoned the symbian, I must go for Android. Window phone is a crap. The nokia's 'no no Android' strategy is the true reason for the pitfall of the company. Look Samsung, Lg, Sony, they not stuck with one only os. I still love Symbian and say that it is the best os, it just need to be open source. Anyway, Android is the todays Symbian and my n8 is my last nokia device

why? the best phones from nokia always were symbian phones, the lumia 800 neithet has a good camera nor a good speaker, the lumia 900 was the same lumia 800 j6st with a bigger screen. now lumia 920, which doesn't has music equalizer, google maps. what I try to say is that WINDOWS PHONE OS is not going to as great as symbian was.

Realist, 24 Jan 2013Come oooon guys, Symbian was sh.t And it is the main re... moreNo. Symbian OS was perfect for my purposes. If we forget apps and the whole google play store from android. Then do comparison between android and symbian. Android and symbian are in very same level. Android doenst have native 3g video call support, also no support for handsfree with multimedia keys to control music player. Symbian had these features since 2007.

AnonD-93689, 24 Jan 2013A sad ending story for Symbian OS because of its rival were... moreImho Symbian lost not because of the opponent is too strong. Rather it lost because it simply stopped fighting. Or being ordered to stop fighting.

It was back in 2002, I still remember my first Symbian the 7650. The first phone with camera, Symbian OS complete with task manager, copy & paste and file manager. I still remember how I marvel at the task manager upon holding the menu button. It was a revolution. The phone that started it all. Then came the N-Gage. Symbian showed the way that it is possible to do serious gaming on a phone. In 2005 the mobile phone specs was in chaos. Features are divided into specific phones and never together. Then nokia outs the N80 the all in one wonder. With a good 3 MP camera, front facing camera, all in connectivity 3G including wifi even irda, expandable storage and removable battery all managed by the Symbian OS. Then the pinnacle of Symbian platform came in the form of N95. A true king of mobile phone. It spiralled downwards come the evolution of touchscreen. But Symbian fought back as hard as it could until it became a decent touchscreen platform. If it fate were not to be determined to doom earlier it would have flourished and gave a good fight against Android/iOS. In it's dying breath it spewed out yet another legend the 808. Pure camera quality. Pure optimization. Purely SYMBIAN. I am honored to have a chance of owning both the first and last Symbian. Rest in peace as there will never be a replacement for you.
