Sony does suck if you aren't technologically competent and update your phone yourself. I would blame the individual, but it's been almost 20 years of pure technological infantilism from the tech sector.

How can your $1200 flagship that's less than a year old be months behind on security patches? They should be prioritizing these updates (and for EVERY region)...at least for the first year. I just got the March security update a day ago. So it was on the January update until 5 days before May!

Sony can't even maintain the Xperia mark III series and it's not even a year old. Security patches are released every 2 months and they're at least one month behind. Bug fixes are rare or never. Telco support on these phones is dismal - only patchy VoLTE support and mostly broken 5G.
Take a look at XDA, Reddit, XperiCheck then say the phone is still a good investment.
