I guess if we want to use SD cards (premium or otherwise), we need to look at non-Samsung flagships.

I had a 128GB micro SD with my Sony Z3. But for my A52 256GB storage is enough.

EVO P... moreYou are indeed missing the obvious: you're talking about an SD card designed for cold data storage. The SD card in this article is designed to serve as an always-on hot data buffer.
This SD card is for a different market, and that naturally means that it has different needs, specs and standards to meet. The endurance requirements are much higher.
If Samsung is telling it's consumers that an always-on SD card for hot data needs to be replaced every five years, the people who need this class of product will just do that. Because in this market reliability is much more important than penny-pinching

The 128GB model promises only 8 years of non-stop recording, and so on.

Works good with 4K video and 64mp photos. I just bought a new Samsung Evo card with an A2 rating, just waiting for it to come in. I would think that Samsung could save money on making phones if the only came with one storage option and offered say, a SD card + charger packs. Just make a 128 GB model and let the buyer decide how much more to add and when to add it.

Google introduced a crippled storage API (SAF) back around Android 8 or 9 but there was a workaround. Last November they mandated all Play Store apps use that API. Sequential performance is at least 5x slower. Random access is about 10000x slower.

What's that different kind of card they made? It was like a micro SD but slightly different and needed a new slot to be read. I tried looking it up and couldn't find. Gsmarena covered it.

But against eMMC memory from not so long agao, some MicroSD are even better witt their 90/100 W/R speed, it's the EvoPlus from Samsung ... Widely available and reliable. And cheap, too, at least in the past, RN the price have risen too unfortunately. Did I mention the 10Y warranty ? A mere 512 Go card for 40 EUR ... Warranted 10Y, it's more than cheap imo.

These cards are primarily for surveillance cameras, dashboard cameras, doorbell cameras, body cameras and gopro type cameras. The world doesn't revolve around smartphones.

Gees some gsm arena users are just straight up annoying.This are endurance cards meant to be used in surveillance cameras and not phones.even the article states that.But no they all rush into the comments with thier realme phones and 200bucks xiaomi to yell out rubbish

EVO P... moreNote that this is "10 years limited warranty", so some fine print surely apply here.
And also note that these new cards are not that expensive. So different pros and cons.
