We can't even use these on our phones now lol.
That aside, I can't believe they'd go with a 32GB SD these days, especially for the specs.

Domestoboto, 05 May 2022Probably because microSD card transfer speeds are just TOO ... moreYou DO realize that you are referencing professional-grade video cameras there right? If you think a 4k RED video camera records video the same way your phone records a 4k video, I have some bad news for you...
You can easily do 8k video recording on a phone at 60-80Mbps considering how compression works, the only factor would be if the SoC would manage to compress it fast enough.

Anonymous, 04 May 2022funny that samsung abolished sd card slots in their flagshi... moreProbably because microSD card transfer speeds are just TOO SLOW for 8K footage. Kingston's fastest microSD (v90) can only do "up to" 90MB/s WRITE speeds (that matters more than Read speeds in video recording). The normal SD cards Canons and Nikons use can only do 60MB/s sustained write speeds and "up to" 100MB/s.
Compare that to flash storage and especially SSD storage where 2GB/s write speed is common; I mean, there's a reason RED cameras and professional movie cameras use SSD-based storage and not microSD!

These peoples need to read the article carefully. Let me copy this to you...
Called Pro Endurance, they are designed to meet “rigorous demands of surveillance cameras, dashboard cameras, doorbell cameras, body cameras, and more”.
You aren't dumb enough to read and understand it right?

Wereweeb, 04 May 2022You are indeed missing the obvious: you're talking abo... morei already get that, seems you didnt need read my comment carefully
you need to explain to me :
this card most likely designed to have higher reliability (sustain more writes) than evoplus/proplus
BUT like it written on note : "Samsung is not liable for any damages and/or loss of data or expenses incurred due to memory card data recovery. The results are based on internal tests, features and specs may vary by actual usage conditions. "
THUS reliability means little if not nothing, maybe it will last longer yes, but then again you are not protected against data loss
by the time it failed, and loss data all you can is ask for warranty for card replacement, which then no different than Evo/Pro plus
IF this card have same warranty period (10years) or offering some sort of data-recovery, i can understand the product position, as it promoted "built to last 16years of writes" (but why only 5years warranty)
So now what different with using always-on hot data buffer with Evo/Pro plus ? as per-specs-wise Pro-plus even better read/write speed

GregLu, 04 May 2022Slow against UFS, I agree. But against eMMC memory from not... moreSD cards aren't even slow. Any branded Class 10 SD card can record 4k 60 fps HEVC videos with no issues. You can also store 4k movies on your phone to watch & they play without any issues.
People who say SD cards are slow are just ignorant. SD cards are fast enough for multimedia usage. I guess they might be slow for storing game files or productivity use, but you can just use your phones internal storage for that & use the SD card for multimedia. You get the best of both worlds.
