I spent my time explaining everything to you, yet your reply only contained personal insults against me because you neither understand what you're talking about nor what I'm talking about, and it's not my problem that you're oblivious of what Quad Bayer is and does. Why the heck you need a google chrome and a samsung brownser on a same time in phone. Both acts as mandatory apps cant be deleted and consume your ram.
I dont see any point in there.
      Pre android is always best.
Let each customer to add what they want and dont force them to have something they will never need or use such as samsung health for example.

AnonD-762416, 11 May 2022It isn't a surprise that a known Apple apologist like ... more"Pixel binning is 100% there to improve image quality"

Utterly incorrect, 48MP/108MP Quad Bayer/Nonacell sensors do not offer improved image quality when reading out pixels in the binning mode over an equally sized 12MP regular Bayer sensor. The overall light gathering ability of a sensor is largely determined by its size (I'm ignoring lens aperture here), whereas SNR is largely determined by the pixel pitch. Splitting each pixel into 4 or 9 of the smaller pixels will not magically reduce noise in an image nor let a sensor collect more light, this is just physics.

The reason why Quad Bayer became popular is that, even though such a 48MP sensor is still fundamentally a 12MP sensor, it also offers an option to record an image at its native pixel count, thereby capturing finer details at an expense of increased noise. It's the *versatility* of Quad Bayer sensors that attracted many smartphone OEMs.

And before you start name-calling me again, I have been fond of the idea of Quad Bayer since it was introduced to the mobile phone for the first time. I'm saying you're wrong simply because, well, you're wrong about this.

It's repetitive and sad to see people on tech sites hating technology as much as Apple sales people.
Pixel binning is 100% there to improve image quality and it is one of the major reasons you get photos near semi-pro cameras with an S22 Ultra, while you iPhone users are stuck having to compare with other phones to feel good.

AnonD-731363, 11 May 2022Man but i am right. Right and wrong is not like black and white for every cases. For example I don't prefer pure Android and like the Samsung UI. So blatantly bashing different UIs is just another form of fanboyism.

The Pixel 6 Pro and Iphone 13 Pros that my family have takes much better images in all conditions. I dont know why, but the S22U seems to do stanges things with peoples faces at a distance.

AnonD-762416, 10 May 2022Wow, you need to learn why the default image resolution on ... moreThe way you were referring to Event Horizon Telescope makes it look like you actually believe pixel binning is there to improve the image quality when that's not what it does. For example, Samsung's 108MP sensor in the binning mode and a 12MP sensor of the same size will theoretically produce identical looking images with a very similar noise level (actually the former will be ever so slightly noisier due to less usable area to capture light).

Imagine that kind of Megapixel with Nokia/Microsoft's PureView oversampling algorithm. I definitely won't be looking at anything else, that's for sure.

Maybe in a parallel world cellphones are advertising extreme 7000mW headphone jacks and people are wondering why cellphones don't have onboard cameras anymore. "Onboard cameras suck! Get a Bluetooth camera," say the fanatics.

The megapixel wars are stupid when lens quality has been the limiting factor for at least a decade.
