Sony Xperia 10 IV brings bigger battery in smaller body

The new device gets a Snapdragon 695 and a 5,000 mAh battery.

Interesting thing. Somewhat overpriced :( but still has a lot to offer.

Has quite pocket-friendly size, large battery (which means insane battery life; 10 III's 4500 mAh cell did amazing job and this one is more-less 10% bigger), mini-jack with (probably) good audio processing, OIS.

There're better price/performance phones from other manufacturers, but none of them offers that much in similarly compact body. Only (older and rather more expensive) Asus Zenfone 8 (non-flip camera one) comes to mind. And iPhones, of course, but these are different kind of device for a different customer.

In short - I like it. Would be nice to find some pre-order offer with decent discount, but there's a little hope :P
On the other hand: hope always dies last, right? ;)

      500 eur for what???
      At that price point i can buy plenty of flagships with latest CPU and GPU.
      Sony went Apple 2022 SE way.

            Why the Snapdragon 695 and not a 765 or at least something of the 700 series?

            The Pixel 4a, the last "compact" Android phone had a 765G and I would expect at least something similar for this potential successor, since the Pixel 6A will be much bigger than the Pixel 4a, my hopes were on a Sony Xperia 10 or 5 IV.

They're charging €500 for a lower mid range phone. I have lost all hope for them. They've been just fleecing their hardcore fans for a few years now, but this is a whole new level.

                      also, unfortunately I'd call it sidegrade rather than an upgrade, don't forget it lost on a couple things compared to the 10 III (4k video, glass back)

                                  you probably can get samsung a52s with 778 these days for 220-250 euros, with better support and faster updates. probably better cameras also.

                                    500 euro still 2 major update while samsung gives 4 major update in this price(galaxy A53).

                                      Are you sure guys it has dual stereo speakers? Nothing is said about stereo for 10iv in Sony's preview. I think you're making the same mistake again like with 10iii in the last year.

                                        I like seeing statements like "worlds lightest" from Sony. We don't see this stuff often enough. I'm going to purchase.
