Joseph Weindl, 18 Apr 2023why did you waste your money on a ipod touch? for how much ... moremeh, i liked the ipod touch to carry around. especially on a car trip. i watch videos or movies and listening to music i have locally. rather than carrying a thinkpad with 6 dvd discs i no longer watch often, that'll be inconvenient. anyway, from what i remember i had the 64gb model, 5th gen, costed me around 130 dollars used. lasted me almost 6 years and the screen is broken and it is quite hard to find the replacement for it. was the best thing apple ever made. why would apple discontinued the entire line😢 last date i owned that thing was november 2022.

I remember being like 7 or 8 and on a tram in Melbourne and seeing many ipod ads
If they refreshed the ipod touch with a 5.7 inch oled 90hz display with a notch, rain drop or punch hole than that would make their networth higher
If it looks like this than it will be epic

A few years back, I bought a locked 2016 32GB iPhone SE for $80. At the time it was cheaper than an iPod touch so there is that possibility.

i have the 5th gen ipod touch and i used it as a camera. but it broke... i missed the ipod😢😢 it has so many memories inside it...

The iPod touch felt much more suitable when gifting it to my children as a complete device than simply throwing some cheap smartphone their way and telling them never to put a sim in it.

The iPod touch was, from its inception, spiritually a member of the iPhone product family rather than the iPod family anyway.
"iPod" as a device in the classic context, ceased to exist years ago when the iPod nano and shuffle were discontinued.
And in the iOS context, the iPod "brand" simply morphed over time, until it became the Apple Music App (which, in addition to subscription based offerings, still offers ways to sync purchased/ripped music without any subscription whatsoever). It continues to exist as an integrated component of every iPhone (and iPad) still being manufactured today.
iPod is dead. Long live iPod (a.k.a. Apple Music)!

Good. This thing was atrocious. They could make a decent new one if the market is still there. Remove all the camera bullcrap, give it the apple watch chip, 5 inch screen, dual speaker, usb C, 64GB, however much RAM they deem appropriate for the entry one at 200/250 and call it a day. But this would require a new design and Timmie loves to recycle so its not gonna happen for a niche product like this.

I'd honestly love to have an updated iPod nano 3rd gen. I'd pay good money for that thing. There's just something about the novelty of such a small device in that form factor and all. Give it much better battery life, give it much more storage, a better display, better build quality, Bluetooth connectivity, USB-C, etc. Surely there's places people would love to NOT have their phones with but would appreciate some music. I know I'd rather take a small, thin, light device with me when I'm cycling around over my bulky phone, for which I appreciate the larger screen for very different reasons.

I have two 3d generation iPods, an 8gb and 32gb, that still have the 30-pin socket. They both still run good. They're used mainly for environmental sleep aid or white noise while plugged into a 1st generation Bose Wave speaker. I knew that eventually the iPod will be discontinued. The used market should have plenty of them. RIP

I actually never owned any iPod player even though I remember they were all the rage back in the day. I still have ancient Philips SA3125 MP3 player with just 2GB of storage. Believe it or not, I've had it sitting in my drawer for like 10 years without touching it and battery is still fully charged and it's working great. Insane. This guy has been going with me everywhere. I also have Creative Zen MP3 player with 8GB of storage. This one has a very sketchy battery, but I still have it. Then I sort of stoppe dlistening to music on the go, not even through smartphone. I guess going everywhere with car kinda changed that since I listen to music there...
