So they never learned. They're still keeping the X2 Core and not even undervolting and underclocking it and instead even plans to overclock it.

Anonymous, 17 May 2022Adreno 662 will remain weaker than 660But much more efficient

Will be interesting to see what fab SD7G1 uses... Hope it is also TSMC 4nm, or at the very least 5nm. Have been putting my upgrade plan on hold for last 2 years, just because of the heating issue in samsung produced SD flagships. And right now, flagship chips are so powerful and so pricey that i dont require them actually... SD7G1 itself should be a good upgrade for my SD835.

One thing I also wish to see is AV1 decode support on the new chips.

If the above checkboxes are ticked, and some manufacturer is kind enough to make a compact enough phone with it, then i can finally upgrade (and put my 4 year old LG V30+ to rest)!

I was and am looking forward to Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 socs.
I don't need flagman socs now, but a good middle ranger could also serve me for 4+ years.

If Qualcomm gone to upset their family with that minor GPU update. This doesn't resolve their problem which is the heating of the chipset.
