Anonymous, 22 May 2022Wow, no one appreciates the technological marvel that this ... moreAgreed

That expensive outdated hardware? Nope. Not paying more than 900$ for last years hardware with tiny battery and extremely power consuming screen. Nope.

It has a Snapdragon 888 and Huawei is still asking for two grand. No, thanks.

I'm looking at the Motorola Razr 3 and I bet that will be Michael Fisher's next phone knowing his taste and using flip phones for so many years. I just read the Razr 3 will have the Snap 8 Plus Gen 1. The more efficient one from TSMC. I was disappointed in its design at first but I'll give it a chance. My Razr 5G is just too weak for me to use for the next 4 years. It throttles like crazy and then when it's not, it still isn't that quick.

Too bad clamshells are the least popular form factor for foldables. The irony considering the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the best-selling foldable phone of all-time. But I only use my Flip 3 as a clamshell Odin Pro. Think GPD Win 1 & 2 without the Windows PC stuff and keyboard. I can't use it as my main phone because gaming on it will drain so much battery even after 45 minutes. It's better than my Razr 5G overall but I tend to prefer my Razr more as a phone.

the phone is exceptionally well done, much like their last inward wedge shaped foldable, but the problem is that tying to ask for £2000 for a device that lacks GMS is a LOT, and it also cuts corners in some aspects, certain features are not available for select markets, stunning device, but I cant justify that kind of money ona device that has virtually no resale value in most western markets and is limited by software to most people, workarounds are one thing I can live with, but workarounds and limitations when spending that kind of money is too big of a step

There is a tech tuber that buys all Foldables. She loved her Xs. I commented on her X Fold unboxing video that she must be excited about the Xs 2. She responded "Hmmmm I am not even sure if I will pick one up. Sideloading Google Play Services is getting harder and harder and these phones are not going down in price at all".

I commend Huawei for sticking to their guns on this design, but the screen remains exposed. I dropped my Fold just standing up at the doctor's office. Lucky for me it survived with no scratches. Those accidental drops from a short distance on this phone would be fatal.

I do see many advantages to this design and it may end up being the best approach for foldables 5-10 years from now, but an exposed screen outweighs those advantages.

Suck off you stingy , and hiss off

8gb Ram in 2022 is beyond joke and asking £1700 for this has no S22ULTRA or Sony Pro-i camera and 18gb Ram nor 5500mah or 2160p or 1440p screen and 600ppi, no xneon flash or true optical zoom and

Epic fail , wish you DOA

Give me those feutres I will pay £1700

Anonymous, 22 May 2022Wow, no one appreciates the technological marvel that this ... moreActually all folds I would buy are from china, Huawei/Vivo. Rest of world is struggling to deliver some folds. EU anything. Bans aside, it's so sad after all I remember old times of Alcatel, Siemens and Nokia, now it's just zombie stuff.

Wow, no one appreciates the technological marvel that this phone is. The US has to place sanctions on this company to stop its rise that has led to the lack of 5G and Google that people are complaining about. Huawei is still at the forefront of smartphone innovations. This is basically the most technologically advanced foldable/smartphone released this year. Sure, it's expensive but you have to pay for cutting edge tech.

davidtb823, 22 May 2022Ok Folks.. So when? When can a buy a durable foldable? The... moreTwo ways to make it last: 1.make the screen small, the only way is to bring it to the eyes, where it can be small physically but not visually from your viewpoint.
2.take some processing to the cloud, play anywhere is actually what it means, try to build a phone which can play latest console games - it would be console thick and do not even mention batteries.
Second is partly here, first will take some time, so in-hand design will be here for some time and bigger screens needing bigger batteries is of course thing, how it can shine so long then?...

Folding out is bad design that huawei had fixed with mate X2.
                                  Now do the shit again?

Lol, exotic is actually the best way, looking how almost all struggle with bringing nxt lvl camera be it in size or zoom to foldables.
It's more like pricy mini tablet, than flagship phone. Rolling it into thick stick make it possible for any ratio to show, big sized sensors and plenty space for lenses and 100x zooms.
Lightsaber design is ideal, also for batteries.
It's no longer about missing play services, price is impossible. It's better to buy classic factor and tablet instead, you could have better how in every situation not to mention some money left too.

Buying this? Certainly not. First of all, no Google services, no banking app, Harmony OS is about a generation behind android. Second of all, the insane price. Third - not being sold in my country, because no one wants them.

                                        Ok Folks..
So when? When can a buy a durable foldable? They are going out of their way to make them useful (the apps to take advantage of it adjustable size are a bit lacking)
Who will come out with a foldable that'll stand up to 2~3 years of constant figiting?
(oneplus has an unlock counter. The most for me ever is 64 unlocks in a 24hr period))
I like the idea..but I like value more.
