Louienyc, 24 May 2022So, in essence, if a carrier wants to act like a neoliberal... moreThis. It's my first time reading they can know which brand someone is using. I thought those "Carrier services" inside Android were standard and everyone was using the same thing.

But it seems it doesnt works that way

What about those of us on other networks. Everyone seems to believe it's only affecting T mobile users. I have an LG stylo 6 with boost mobile that hasn't worked properly since Sunday morning. I haven't been able to work either since my job is app-based. Also, still unable to make calls and the error is still popping up.

I'm on Metro PCS. I'm still dealing with this problem even after restarting several times over the last 10 hours after learning of the supposed fix release. Isn't there someplace I can go to download the fix directly?

So, in essence, if a carrier wants to act like a neoliberal capitalist jerk, they can cut off specific phones from their network through backend changes to try to force pepole to buy a new phone when it wouldn't otherwise be necessary. Good thing T-Mobile is nice. For now anyway.

Yeah, that's a big NO on the carrier fix. I restartet my V30 and the error message is still popping up.

I went through the steps everyone was suggesting and it still didn't work. I ended up factory reset on my phone and so far it's worked.

There is a bug on the HTC One M8 that when setting up, it repeatedly says I think „unfortunately, contacts has stopped“ so you had to click okay on this as fast as you can to get through all the setup screens in the milliseconds where the alert does not show.
