The only reason to get a Pro is if you like the touchbar. If you need active cooling you probably need the MBP 14 or 16

Th... moreYes Samsung didn't copied, but they got the courage from Apple, to put the notch on a tablet. Why? because iPad do not have notch yet.
It is so sad to see this notch becoming a feature. There is no need to make the bezels too thin, because you need to hold the device in your hand and it requires some non usable area to grab on to.
Clearly the industry is giving priority to aesthetics in place of practicality.

I don't get why buy the air, when the Pro 13" has the same M2 but with an active cooling system (hence it will be able to push the cpu/gpu further), a bigger battery and better charger at the same price??

What is it with Apple and their low storage agenda.
They never get in the real game and should have 512 as the base model.
And im still wondering why they brought back that shitty magsafe plug. The older angled magsafe plugs under Jobs era was waaaay better.

Not everyone has a... morethat makes no sense at all, a laptop is a productivity machine, and has plenty of space to put jacks and mag safe etc into its frame, im pretty sure there would be absolute outrage if a proprietary laptop was sold without a brick/cable especially given that laptops up until recently drew far more power then phones, which has changed in the past 2 years, and their cost alone justifies a brick added, now if the power becomes standardised then sure you may see future laptops have no brick, but not anytime soon, although the EU have now created a standardised rule that all electronics have USB-C charging port from 2024, which includes Iphones getting rid of lightning port, so that mag safe connector may become a purchasable extra after 2024

I've used a few laptops in my day, with the ... moreJust as a reference, MacBooks from 2016-to-2019 have been some of the worst in history. Problems such as Butterfly keyboard, No Ports, less tactile TouchBar, No MagSafe, Screen issues due to backlight flex-cable, Display oleophobic coat peeling etc etc.
In the world of MacBooks, there were a couple legendary devices:
- The last upgradeable / unibody model (mid-2012 MacBook Pro-15 with GT650M)
- The last medium retina model (early-2015 MacBook Pro 13in Retina with HD-6000)
- The last large retina model (late-2015 MacBook Pro 15in Retina with M370X)
- The last x86 model (early-2020 MacBook Pro 16in with RX5500)
These models seem to last significantly longer than their Windows-Laptop counterparts. And so I am looking forward to perhaps upgrading my machine. Likely I will go for the 2022 MacBook Pro 14in, M2 Pro, 24GB RAM, 1TB SSD. Nothing is upgradeable, so these specifications will serve well for the next 4-8 years. The M2-Max would be nice to have, but would be out of my budget, whilst I don't think the M2 Plus, M2 Base and M1 Base will cut it. If I see a good deal on a 2021 MBP 14 with the M1P or M1X, I will probably jump on that instead.
