In 2022 only Macs make sense. Unless you don’t mind carrying around chargers which some of them are as heavy as the laptop itself.

I've used a few laptops in my day, with the quality differing from the likes of (best) ThinkPad, Razer, ASUS, Lenovo, Toshiba (great). And had many issues on (good) Surface, Samsung, Sony, HP, Acer, Dell, Alienware (worst).
I will say, one of the most important things is to get it right the FIRST time. You can tell a lot about a Laptop in-person, and not online/reviews. Hinges flimsy = future problem. Kind of poor screen = will become dated fast. Battery life average = poor battery life in future. System tad slow = very very slow in the future.
So you definitely do NOT want to "cheap out". Make a budget, set some preferences, then get some hands-on with all the laptops and choose from there. Only if you choose your Laptop VERY carefully in the first place, you can get a fantastic experience.

Phones should keep both options too, no question.

No ugly black keyboard insert on this Air which is good, such a bad design decision on the Pro's, makes it look like a budget Windows laptop. Pity is still has the boxy edges and the notch though.

Sams... moreEh... the OS that most Samsung laptops use is Windows 10/11 (we don't talk about Chrome OS, the Chromebooks are cheap so don't expect notches on those), which would mean if they added the notch to their Galaxy Books (which is again, unlikely), either Microsoft would have to add support for notches on Windows laptops, or Samsung would have to find a workaround.
Also yes I know about the Tab S8 Ultra, and I won't really bother to defend it a ton since it's still kind of funny they added a notch to ONE of their products even after all that marketing against Apple's notches. All I'll say is that I don't think the notch will stay on the Tab Ultra forever. If it does though, you can laugh at me.

Samsung Already added notch to their tablet, and it's unavoidable to see it in their laptops. The only question is when they will tweak their laptop OS to work with it.

Like I said ages ago (when I was still known as Anonymoss) - other laptop manufacturers know better, especially when they know how to stuff small camera sensors into slimmer bezels (or just not include them at all for even slimmer bezels).
It's like saying that phone manufacturers will copy the iPhone 14 Pro design - the others know that one punch-hole looks better than one punch-hole and a pill. (Then again it MIGHT happen, but not with the big players (Samsung, Xiaomi etc.) for sure.)

But if you have like 20W charger lying around at the house, its good to go 67W, put at home, then bring that small 20W charger with you.

And with headphones, so it's about having options in laptops, but not in phones? Because modern flagships don't have the headphone jack and you don't even get a dongle anymore. So you don't really have options. You have to go wireless.
It's hypocritical.
"We want wireless future", but we won't do that with laptops, they need options.
"We removed the charger for the environment", but not for laptops, they are not bad for the environment.
