Samsung apparently has a huge stockpile of 50 million devices due to low demand

The A Series is mostly to blame.

I hope, Samsung is regretting their decision of not including charger and good specs.

The problem with A53 is the pricing, too expensive in launch for medicore phone. When price drops from 449€ to 300€ it starts selling.

I tried the A53 for couple of weeks. And is not that bad as some people are saying. Is not laggy and it has nice feeling in the hand. The display and cameras are also very good. Of course, is not made for heavy tasks or gaming, but for day to day usage is more than capable. I think the downsize is that people are comparing it too much with the A52s. But, should be compared with the A52.
Also, the prices have gone down very much for it (but that's usual with all Samsung phones). In my country, you can get one as open box product (like new, 2 years warranty) with as little as 310EUR. For that money I think is worth it.
Nobody is forcing you to buy Samsung phones in first day of release and pay full price. Wait couple of months and those prices can go down even 30-50%. I remember paying for my new S21 in the past 640EUR, just 3 months after it was release (because I get it at a very nice discount in Samsung Store). Kept it for 6 months and sold it with 600EUR, lol.

Bottom line, Samsung has made some bad decisions in 2022, true, but I would still buy Samsung over some other brands. And their software support is best from Android world (compared only with Apple's one).

Very good.. No one should buy scamsung devices. They are destroying phones after an update and asking people to pay for replacement of parts. People are finally beginning to know about the scam that Scamsung is doing.

This is what happens when a company takes people for granted. Some may argue that there is inflation, but they shouldn't have removed the features of what makes a mid-range device like a charger and headphone jack. Other companies are providing a charger(superfast charging of at least 30W), a case in the box, and a headphone jack. Now other companies will start adopting this kind of toxic sales strategy in their mid-range segment unless people stop purchasing this kind of product.

After 4 Samsung phones, I will go to other brand. Main reasons:
              Poor Exynos
              Slow charging
              Low PWM
Cutting costs (even screen protector is gone).

Anonymous, 22 Jun 2022I don't think Samsung is wrong or making bad decisions... moreDon’t forget Samsung already made such promises with updates but turned out that was a lie. People loosing confidence. A series is good but too expensive. Those phones should be aimed at carriers to offer people with 2yr contracts for free or very cheap.

Anonymous, 22 Jun 2022Why not make them a bit cheaper? Growing inflation is caus... morePhone components are only getting MORE AND MORE EXPENSIVE, though. And lest we forget, Samsung's doing ALL the R&D for the OLED screens, memory chips, and camera sensors other OEMs just buy wholesale.

What's Samsung supposed to do to "lower the price"? Pull a Xiaomi and stuff dozens of unwanted apps from the highest bidder and/or use cheaper memory chips (which are often attributed as the culprit of so many Xiaomi phones deadbooting)?

I don’t think that A series is not desirable. Altough I don’t have one, those people I know to own A series are satisfied. Especially with A52s. Problem is, they are too expensive for what they offer. Those phones should cost pennys on 2yr contract and then would sell like hot bagels.

I don't think Samsung is wrong or making bad decisions, the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33 are amazing, they come with the latest Android 12 and will have 4 Android updates, Samsung wouldn't even need to launch a new Galaxy A54 next year. They could easily sell all that excess inventory next year instead of launching a new Galaxy, maybe they'll just launch a Galaxy A34 and the Galaxy A53 will still sell.

just sell them for 150$ i gona buy em

They cut a lot of corners for the 2022 A series. That plus the global inflation- what were they expecting?

The A53 lost the headphone jack and comes with the underwhelming Exynos 1280. It is also priced close to the excellent A52s with discounts.

The A73 lost its headphone jack and zoom camera. It has a stronger chipset than any A72, but the omission of the zoom camera makes it feel like any other midrange phone vs the somewhat highend-exclusive zoom experience.

Hardly surprising given how disappointing the Ax3 lineup is. Weak, far from competitive chipsets priced at or more than their Ax2 counterparts, many of which are simply better devices.

Samsung:- Lets remove charger, back case, earphones from the Box.
Also Samsung:- Why people don't buy our Phones.

The thrash they made in the name of A53 will definitely be the cause of this , expensive phone with a poor chipset isn't at all ideal .

                                    No fast charging
                                    No head phones
                                    No charger

We the buyers of this A53 and Co must sue samsung for ripping us off cos if you won't provide us with Chargers due to the "environment" , why manufacture and license it for other manufacturers to make so we again buy them differently???
We should use our old chargers??? = These old chargers if not Samsung made or licensed won't fast charging and this is an exploitative move to have users spend more

A series this year aren't that bad.

is it possible that they are mostly exynos versions of their A range which could have lower demand than their snapdragon versions, it's possible that they over estimate the demand for exynos smartphone and produced too much while minimising their orders for snapdragon varients which usually sells better
