It's a mobile phone what were you people really expecting? No matter the design everyone will be doing the same thing they always do on phones downloading some apps and checking social media, playing a few games, and listening to music, as it is a phone. whether you can bend it fold it or make it light up at the back it's just a phone. when do people say it's not special, what phone now is?

Anonymous, 23 Jun 2022It will take several years until they have stablished themselves They've almost established themselves already with the OnePlus series. They simply had to continue what people loved about them the most, which is the excellent OxygenOS software, as well as sticking true to their "Never Settle" motto by continuing to give things that matter to people like headphone jack and charger in the box, while also still continuously undercutting their opponents at a much lower price point and they are sure to be successful with such move.
They really didn't have to destroy themselves like that, but they still did and this Nothing is the product of themselves admitting that they really failed hard on that part.

what OS Yanv do you use,, Android ? then you just become a regular phone,, nothing special

Anonymous, 23 Jun 2022*Some* people are not complimentary about this phone but re... moreYeahh yeahh sure it's got the people's attention and all, but for how long can they sustain this amount of publicity before it starts fading out as their products continue to underwhelm people?

Besides, creating such gimmicks and hypes is usually the first step towards building people's trust so that someday they could establish themselves as one of the most reliable brands for consumers. They are moving to the Nothing branding because OnePlus's "Never Settle" campaign has ironically went down to settling for mediocrity after years of trying to be unique and one-upping their competitors in terms of price. Now they're clearly trying to do things again back from the start with this Nothing phone, but I doubt such marketing tricks will work again for them because the times now are much more different compared to before, and the factors that led to their short success back in 2014 is almost no longer in existence in 2022.

In short, this hype will only last for a few good months but as they continue to disappoint the consumers with products that, if not bad at all, but are simply no different or anything better than what everyone else are offering already, then mark my words, it would all be pointless and would only lead to NOTHING.

rizki1, 23 Jun 2022bro, the design and names already different from what we sa... moreThe world is about branding. If they start with a mid range device, its half destroyed.

"You can say what you want about Carl Pei, but he sure is among the best marketers and hype builders in the mobile space."

I'm not a believer so I take that as a joke.

It might end up with SD 778 as nothing is yet to be confirmed
The LED looks bizzarre. I like the idea but not the excution of it.

Essen, 23 Jun 2022Is it me, my optical illusion or is Nothing reasonably compact? It doesn't look compact to me. It looks roughly the same size my Pixel 5a looks in my hand and the 5a is a pretty big phone. Not like Infinix big, but like normal big. The invite system is funny but I understand why they do it. I was pretty hype to buy the OP1, but the invite system and having to troll the forum for weeks to get one killed the vibe for me. The end result is I still haven't bought a single OnePlus to date even though I buy way too many phones. At minimum one a year. I have been slowing down recently because phones have gotten either too similar or too big or both for my tastes. The Pixel 5a to 6a will be the longest I have gone between phones in a few years.

In fact, all of us here are waiting for Nothing to step into the phone world and introduce something truly different and refreshing in the boring world of phones today. Something that will be different in terms of hardware and software and bring intresting new features and so on. But so far with all this teasers and hype that they're building, it seems that the phone may not be able to live upto the expectations

You will have plenty of time when this phone fails big

why you guys hate this brand? it's good to wait and see a new brand enter to the world of the phone. This looks seriously big and hyped to us isn't it? I support every new brand coming, so I hope more to come.

I think they forgot something important. The oneplus one was a flagship killer, not a mediocre midranger.

Tigolebitties, 23 Jun 2022Basically everyone but the normal customers Yep. This phone will flop hard it seems. The amount of unnecessary hype that they're building is bringing them plenty of bad publicity from all over. People are finally frustrated because of this drip feed of teasers and bits of info since months. In the end, the phone will not even be available for most people which will only cause more disappointment among them. Nothing really messed up by creating this amount of hype. And now if the phone doesn't live upto the expectations (which it likely won't) people will be further annoyed by the unnecessary fuss around it and in the end most people will buy something else and avoid this altogether
