And this site's new generation of writers seem to be ones that just go with the consumer flow and the old guard, who defended stuff like hardware keyboard etc., are long gone.

It's time for 512Gb and 1Tb
To support heavy 16mp+ photography and 60fps video.
Now we don't get unlimited Google Photos storage anymore, since 2021 June 1.

What a pity, just to pay alot for the bareminimum 256gb on flagships. And to pay monthly subscription on cloud. Just like paying for all the 356215875423 monthly ordinary bills

Even "smart/android" TVs seem to be backsliding in features or capabilities all because of "normal consumers".

It's close to becoming worse IOS copy soon.

alcatraz, 26 Jun 2022The poll contains an "I don't need it" choic... moreI haven't used micro sd since 2016, I had more than enough storage, but when I needed it, I used it, and god it saved my files when that phone broke!!
Now I started using it again, but since we have "hybrid" slot stupid thing, I can't use two SIM cards AND micro sd at the same time.
And now even worse by removing that slot completely.
Just because I used it 6 years ago, doesn't mine I cheer for removing it and doesn't mean I won't use it again!!!!!!
So your point is more than 100 percent valid.

45% of people just don't care wether or not ... moreThe poll contains an "I don't need it" choice.
Open and shut case then that if you DIDN'T vote for that, you are open to the idea of using a memory card at some point = 85%.
In every case, your leap in assumption is the greater one between us two.

It's pathetic how some people here still supporting the removal of useful features. Maybe you don't use it but people who takes lots of pictures and videos need it. It's not like these money hungry companies are giving an option to customers. Just straight away removal. This is called forcing.
Also if your storage is near to full, smartphones default tend to act slow. This can also be avoidable with SD slot.
I'm pretty sure 99% of those who says they don't need more than 128GB takes 1MP pictures 😂 and records 720p videos to save storage as well as data. Yes I'm judging you all.

From the result of the survey, phone model distribution should be:
40% Model XA = 128GB Hybrid Dual SIM + eSIM
40% Model XB = 256GB Hybrid Dual SIM + eSIM
20% Model XC = 512GB Hybrid Dual SIM + eSIM
