The first 120Hz phone display was actually the Xperia XZ Premium (before the Razer phone). But the only way to enable it was through an ADB, since Sony removed the option prior to its launch. This was because of battery life concerns.

CPU: S... moreFirst of all. Get your facts straight if you are going to attempt this. However I guess if you did it with facts you wouldn't have had much to post.
First of all I've made it very clear I've been talking about all of the recent phones from Sony starting with the $2500 pro.
Which is absolutely insane. The 1 iv is the only one that even starts to step things up just a bit. But still lacks in many ways.
But at a retail of $1600 the 1 iv is still not doing anything special. Oh it has 0.5k more resolution than samsung and a headphone jack! That means they can charge whatever they want!!!!
-CPU: You might be in Europe but 8 gen version still exists. And the difference is severely exaggerated online. Not to mention both chips run hot. Not point made.
-DISPLAY RES: 4K vs QHD+ Aka 3.5K. Not QHD which still is very good anyway.
-PPI: So yeah a little smaller screen with a little higher resolution has a little higher PPI. Woah......
Difference is the phone and app choose when to be 4K on Sony. Otherwise 1080p. With the 22 ultra not only does it double the brightness but you choose the max resolution of 3.5k if or when you want.
-BRIGHTNESS: I don't know what fanboi breakfast you eat but the information is clearly available on this site and claiming that its not and just because you can't find it shows you have the bias not them.
And correction thats 1266 vs 600. The 22 ultra gets to almost 900 in just an extra brightness mode..not the sunlight auto boost. Just a setting. Thats not even its max auto mode which is 1266.
The 1 iv only gets up to 650 or 688 in certain apps or if you play around with settings. Which most won't do.
-SD: Yes thats a big thing.
-3.5: Also yes I agree. However there's no special dac or audio.
Those two features are important and about the only area samsung actually really looses here. They however do not justify everything wrong Sony is doing. Matching 6-8 year old devices in brightness, their over absurd pricing, or any other area they lack.
Due to their insane pricing and areas they fall behind they are just as useless as the companies who don't provide those two things.
There are better options at much cheaper costs.
-SPEAKERS: The speakers on the 1 iv caught up mostly. But at $1600 nothing special at all. And the ones on the $2500 pro, $1300 1ii, or $1800 pro 1 were a couple years behind the average let alone the better ones.
Whether you use them or not does not excuse companies cheaping out. Especially when others have similar or better set ups and far less cost.
-BATTERY: Yes Sony finally upped the size of the battery to 5000mah. Shockingly. But again at $1600 and in 2022 thats nothing special and very late. Especially when their other ones had 4,500 and their endurance showed it not matter what their fans claimed about oh magical illusion optimizations......
-CAMERA: Yeah nobody is doing anything special with camera. Just playing fake megapixel marketing. Only thing improving in years is zoom lens. And Sony again lacked there too. Even the new continuous zoom is not great. Maybe a step towards better future implementation but not currently.
SOFTWARE: Will be and are doing are different. Not that any are amazing here. Though Sony tends to have much more kinks despite their more lackluster software.
"Why should I not switch from Samsung to Sony again??!"
Clearly many reasons. Though unfortunately they are all starting to screw us. Luckily at least others besides Sony don't release with multiple aspects being years behind yet cost way more than anything else on the market. Despite the fact they are saving millions on hardware, software, marketing, and availability.

CPU: SnapDragon 8 Gen 1 vs Exynos OVEN (I'm from Europe and this really matters!)
Display resolution: 4K VS QHD
Display density: 643 PPI vs 500 PPI
Luminosity: 902 vs 688 Couldn't find info on this website about Sony - it only shows they're biased against them)
SD card slot: Yes vs No (Instant DEALBREAKER for me and my 1TB SD card)
3.5mm jack: Yes vs No (I absolutely hate wireless laggy headphones that constantly need charging - MAJOR BONUS)
Speakers : Watch MKBHD's review on Xperia I IV. Speakers are very good. But who's listening to loudspeakers nowadays? I almost never use them except for the ringtone.
Battery: 5000mAh on both
Cameras: I don't care about the cameras of either phones. No comment.
Software updates: Sony will also be forced by the European Union to offer more than 2 major updates in the future.
Service centers: both are excellent in Europe.
Why should I not switch from Samsung to Sony again??!

Pointing out that while they are nothing like that fanatical fans like yourself claim... but they have the potential to be.
The have the money, technology, power, and brand recognition to be leading the mobile market. They can and should be.
But instead we just have corporate greed machines worse than what Apple and Samsung are doing. Just run by old bats that hold themselves down. Even at a time while manufactures were pushing limits and really trying Sony was just holding back and floating along. Until everyone else being lazy, greedy, and complacent. Then Sony decided it was safe to do the same and put a little effort again while still holding back a lot but charging more than anyone else in the market.
$2500 for a phone with the brightness of an 8 year old flagship, last gen soc, weak and outdated cameras, weak 5g, small battery with below average endurance, outdated speakers, etc.
And still you fans defend and praise them and say it's for professionals..... wow that one feature does not justify the price and it's completely offset by the externally dim screen that prevents it from even being used for that function in the first place......
That's more than double the cost of phones that the manufactures spend more in r & d, marketing, technology, software, and availability on.

- they do not always introduce something world first. They have at times and so have others.
- Like apple? Their marketing is factual? 😂😂😂😂 First of all Sony doesn't even have marketing which is a huge issue with their insane over pricing as they cut corners on multiple areas like marketing saving them million and millions.

- their sales are on the low side because they barely market or properly release the device. Resulting in most people not even knowing makes phones. Let alone many others following issues beyond that.
- they've always had a fan base and they tend to make the eccentric apple fans look normal.
- targeting professionals😂😂😂 that's a good one lately that the crazy fan base made up to justify the absolutely crazy price point of Sony phones and all the areas the lack. Nothing is professional about their phones except minutely their camera ui.
Not the camera just a little bit the ui.
- they were barely making money off phones until 2018 cause before that they weren't trying at all. And then they realized it was starting to become a little more popular to hold back things and charge more and took that concept and ran wild with it since. Even far surpassing apple with it.
The worst part about all of this is that Sony has always had the potential to actually be more like this imaginary leading company their coockoo fans claim them to be.
They have the money, factories, brand recognized name, and everything they need. They could have been rivaling samsung and apple heavily since a decade ago. Really pushing phone technology and sales.
Instead they are held down by old bats that have continued to keep the att only like 40% of their potential.
