Provide a few samples of Leica Authentic look in very bright and moody conditions if you can please. I would like to see how close they were able to replicate 'Leica Colours'.

        Maria, 07 Jul 2022I believe this is a "well-done" phone, so it must... moreI wouldn't say that Samsung were the first to use 'Ultra' in their phone names, usage of 'Ultra' was done way further back than 2020 - hell, I found a phone from 2009 that used 'Ultra' in the name, and there's probably more further back. I would say that the use of 'Ultra' began to ramp up more starting with Samsung's S20 Ultra.

        Also, Xiaomi doesn't have ads in their flagships, that would just be terrible. It's limited to lower tiers like the budget phones they make.

              I could be wrong, but it appears that Leica isn't too big on Computational Photography. They could be going easy on HDR. It's likely that HDR on this phone could be even better than it is currently. Btw, it's pixel size is similar to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but it's quad pixel, so noise, colour information and motion artefacting compensation should be much better.
              I wonder what the various frame rates are for this sensor at full resolution. It's a little disappointing to know that this sensor is limited to 10-bit, instead of 12-bit. That would have really helped with HDR. But, I guess it Kay allow it to be faster. Looking forward to seeing the official sensor literature on Sony's IMX Sensor Profile pages.

                I watched a comparison with vivo x80 pro and wow, the vivo is still the king of low light coupled with the magical hdr processing that controlled the highlights better than any phone. I personally will wait for the pro plus

                      The reason Xiaomi won't sell the 12S series outside china because the 'S' which means a strategic update will soon be supersede with the 13 series which will launch in November (4 months).

                      Xiaomi knows the non-China audience will screaming if after 4 months better phone arrived.

                                I don't get it. Why do they always have to set a black wallpaper. Due to that it's almost impossible to see the screen and its rounded corners.
                                In Mi 11 the rounded corners look terrible because they don't match the roundness of the 2,5D glass.
                                So the question is if they also made this stupidity in 12S Ultra? I hope not.

                                PS. Could you please test the proximity sensor if it's an optical one or a AI virtual sensor?

                                  CNY 5999 which translates to 880 euros or 900 dollars means this phone is a complete doombringer to the much more overpriced compatition which for 300-800 more price gives much less. And at CNY 6999 or 1020 euros gives 12GB/512GB no other competition gives this price for top model. Shame on you.
                                  Brand new S22 Ultra when released costed 1300 and more depends on configuration.
                                  Apple 13 pro max had also 1300 for base model.
                                  Sony Xperia pro 1 or Sony Xperia IV cost 1500 plus and are far from even.
                                  This is beast.

                                    To be honest, by looking at some reviews here & there, looks like its involvement with Xiaomi are more than what they did with Huawei. MrWhosetheboss? I just put a smirk when he dont like the 'Leica Authentic Mode' 😏

                                      Calvin62, 07 Jul 2022Why bother when its exclusive for China.They got sent it free by Xiaomi so one of the conditions would be doing a review as this is basically a form of marketing for phone companies (it only goes on sale in China tomorrow so they couldn't have purchased it). I think some people would probably like to see how it performs anyway even if they are unlikely to buy it. It's the first time to see this imx989 camera sensor as well so some might be interested in that as it will likely make its way to other phones in the future as it is supposedly not exclusive to Xiaomi
