AnonD-731363, 13 Jul 2022Hmmmm maybe. Lets see whats future will bring on. Definitely can't wait to see what future photographic tech brings, but yeah the move to mirrorless is an old story now.
I think Sony alpha really ramped up the move for other camera brands.
My old dslr had the option to lock up the mirror , mainly which I used for wildlife shots with my 500mm on an APS-H sensor , so kind of the middle ground between APS-C and full frame.

I've not owned a camera in years though, as I've just used whatever the studio has in :-) saves me fkin up my own stuff.

Phone cameras have definitely improved, but nowhere near a semi pro or pro camera , in regards to sensor pixel site size, tonal range / dynamic range , etc

But things are definitely getting interesting, I just hope they decide to make the phones thicker to reduce camera hump, increase battery , and improve the quality of optics

Not a surprise, Canon announced its last DSLR a while back too, I believe. End of an era for sure though. My first camera was a Nikon DSLR, so the brand has a special place in my heart. I now shoot Sony and Fuji mirrorless.

blue, 13 Jul 202290 % of the quality? You kidding, right? Maybe about 10 %..... moreI had 2 mirrorless and 2 DSLRs.
I had cameras with APSC sensors and full frame ones.

          >All of them suck for video, especially stabilization.
          >The quality is literally indistinguishable from phones unless pixel peeping.

Don't believe me? Look up countless comparison videos on YouTube. Still claim otherwise? Get some glasses.

          Bonus details:
          >bulky and expensive
          >takes long to setup, and even longer to edit
          >build quality is good only on the utmost expensive models
          >forget about stable shots without a tripod, so even more expensive and bulky

Honestly, seeing someone carrying around a dedicated camera is like watching a dumb dinosaur stuck in a timeloop.

blue, 13 Jul 202290 % of the quality? You kidding, right? Maybe about 10 %..... moreBest smartphone cams are actually surprisingly close in quality with DSLR, you can find endless comparison videos from youtube where professional photographers praise the quality smartphone cams produce nowdays. Let’s not even talk about video quality too

Of course if you need big zoom, DSLR is untouchable, but for majority in normal photos most can’t notice or know the difference anymore, that’s why camera companies are in big trouble.

His 90% of quality was quite accurate.

This so called crappy xiaomi made best out of best for a price nobody can beat. No Sony, Samsung or Apple. Only competitive and better in few parts is Nubia red magic.
Apart Nubia all other phones cost way more and gives way less.

I do understand you envy xiaomi but you can make your own phone anytime if you know how and your both hands are not lefthanded.

No phone can compete with APS-C camera in image quality, no matter how much computational "photography" they use. I'm not even talking about full frame, that's beyond any comparison.

Lol Nikon.. Canon already have a tone of mirrorless camera. If you want sharpness, go with Nikon. But, you will get not so great colors. If you're more to colors, go with Canon. For me personally, I have Canon DSLR and soon will get the mirrorless Canon. I'm kinda tired carry around the DSLR + lenses + accessories in my backpack whenever I'm traveling back to my hometown. The DSLR body itself already took much space and the weight is (*no need to mention it) 😅
