I just don't care about camera. Pixel takes better pictures than this. I wish it had flat panel instead of curved and it had 5500 capacity in battery.

jason, 14 Jul 2022mediocre?? are you high?what he said is true. we live in the era where android phone companies always use megapixels for marketing.

IpsDisplay, 14 Jul 2022Why won't you guys listen Computational photography... morecomputational photography is the reason why dslrs die.
but they look worse as they would get over-sharpened image. what the person you reply is true. 200mp are just a marketing gimmick. and it wastes storage easily. its useless to have humongous amount of megapixels if there is no sd card. don't say cloud storage. they are inconvenient. have to be online 24/7 just to see a photo from the cloud.

S Yu, 14 Jul 2022Since when is 1" "wafer thin" at any apertur... more1 inch 3:2 has a crop factor of 2.7, with 4:3 the crop factor will be smaller, let's call it 2.5, and the lens aperture is f1.9, let's call the 35mm equivalent aperture f4.9, on a full frame camera that is still a shallow depth of field where if you have two friends who are not parallel to each other, one will be out of focus. Okay it's not as thin as f2.8 on full frame, but it's still very thin. Mirrorless full frame cameras are more professional tools where you shoot static subjects in the studio.

If you included an aperture control mechanism/blades you'd increase the size of the module, so I doubt you'd be able to have a 1 inch sensor with the ability to stop down. Therefore the Xiaomi 12s ultra is not for me.

Waxy, as expected. In fact they'd probably need pixel shift to fix that issue on quad bayer.

The real question is if this is any better than an unbinned 50mp quad Bayer sensor as in 4 to 1 mode, 4 virtual pixels are still sharing the same colour filter.

As expected, it's mediocre at best even accounting for the compression. These high megapixel sensors are 100% marketing and 0% substance.

Hopefully there is an option to set default resolution to binned 12MP otherwise it will burn through storage
