Samsung Galaxy A24, A34, and A54 to launch without depth sensing cameras

21 July 2022
The company allegedly plans to focus on the quality of the remaining cameras.

Prepare for a lot of those cost cutting moves in next year. Of course it's main goal is saving the planet ;-) and selling you these devices for more $$$.
First we went to 3-5 cameras, now we will come back to 1/2 cameras.
I'm laughing keeping in my hand s9. Quantity doesn't mean quality.

Good main cam and ultrawide(which can take great macro shots as well) is enough but for a54 i would hope 2x telephoto cam also.

Most mid range and budget phones have 1-2 cameras which nobody needs, oems should instead put better ultrawide cam or 2x telephoto cam.

Maybe 2024 Samsung will cut those macro cams and just use ultrawide for great macro shots.

Watch them raise prices yet again, with less material and cost for them..

Samsung should have 2 sensors only. Both need to be 50MP.
1st should be an ultrawide, cum wide, cum macro.
2nd should be 2x and 4x zoom, cum portrait.

Merely by Cropping Into the Sensors, 2 could function as atleast 4. Samsung just has to ensure that the lenses are brighter than other ultrawide and zooms. Or use larger pixel sensors.

I'm using galaxy a51 as my temporary phone. What a terrible cameras is got. What a waste of 4 cameras. None of them are good. My one plus 6 with Google camera takes pictures which are 50x better. I can imagine that's true for most Samsung handsets.

Replacement for depth sensor is telephoto which they won't give,
Replacement for macro sensor is ultrawide which every device already have so it should be macro camera removed

Man, companies should start selling phones with 1 rear camera and without a selfie, build their cost into a better SoC. I was fine with my sony ericsson K750i's camera back then, it was able to take a photo, I dont need 56 cameras each doing something else and I get the same photo...

I wouldn't touch depth sensor. Macro camera is the one who is completely useless here.

I'm sorry but the part ,,to become like Nothing phone" is absolutely insane. No one will copy them, they copied iPhone so i don't see the point.
+ It's not the first time Samsung would do 2 cameras.

Yay. Now get rid of the macro cam.

Will wait for A55. Just need a good Snapdragon. Large 120HZ screen. And good sound. Camera isn't that important for me. Until that time I will use my current A52.

Samsung's quality has gone down the drain since my last Samsung phone. What a shame! And it's just the same pointless fight among Samsung and Apple, much like the Mariah Carey and Eminem feud, and ending up copying each other and disappointing with every single release.

Anonymous, 21 Jul 2022Micro shot is very important for me, as my work required a ... moreMacro shots can be taken from ultrawide camera genius, check macro shots from Motorola edge 30 its much better than dedicated sensor,
Cause it have auto focus and images come out at 12.5mp

Samsung is such a big brand why can't they just do something of their own in the midrange category, always a follower. It's a shame.

WTF! Just 5MP Ultrawide camera! If Samsung is planning to downgrade then they should only release the A54 with 50MP camera no other camera on the back, UW camera is essential for photography and a 5MP one won't do well.
