even as a samsung and iphone user, what is the point? I understand that on the android side its all about 1 upmanship trying to gain sales from other manufacturers, but really what benefits will such a huge megapixel count achieve to half the chumps that use these phones? why not focus on refining the tech you already have and pushing for more 1" phone sensors. with better processing and less artificial editing, smartphone cameras are nothing short of astounding how far they have come, but in reality they are still a LONG way of even a budget DSLR/Mirrorless, but thats not to say gains cannot be made by refining current tech

great, now half of the back of phones will be just one camera, and the other half logo and rest of the cameras.

If they just renew the old sensor used in the Nokia 808 true 41 RGB pixels, with todays tech would be plenty of details and performance.

But no, they have to do that quad bayer thing.

              Why Samsung? Just... why?!

My 24MP full frame mirrorless camera will always shoot better than a 100500MP phone camera :)

                    Funny explanation by samsung.
None of these sensors by default will output "bayer mode" in daylight unless user sets phone to.
Using 🌞🌛 to explain is dumb.

That all samsung knows how to do.
Increasing number of neighbor pixels with that are below same color filter.
                      4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49 then 64.

                      Nothing else.

                        not that megapixel race again
