sohail shafayat, 26 Jul 20222/3" (1/1.5") 24MP (6000x4000p) is the future of ... moreKeep dreaming on seeing 3:2.
Not gonna happen.
Pro-i only uses 3:2 because the sensor already exists.
Way cheaper than creating a new 12MP 1/1.3" 4:3.
Multi aspect like imx300 (Z5/XZ) is much more necessary.
No FOV change when shooting video if EIS is off.

User, 26 Jul 2022My 24MP full frame mirrorless camera will always shoot bett... moreThat is obvious when the cmos inside your camera is about 7x larger than one used by Xiaomi 12s Ultra. Not even counting glass elements within the lens.
Only dumb people think software can nulify this hardware difference.

Complete garbage. They still give you this old 12mp binned resolution, who cares how many pixels make up a binned pixel? Moreover, these actual pixels sizes getting smaller which is worrying.
16mp imx686 and then 27mp isocell hmx was step in right direction, especially latter could do some "lossless" zoom and could ignite a return of PureView but now they're back to this lowly 12mp, no matter how many pixel they use for marketing gimmick.
Quad Bayer was enough, but then they went 3x3, 4x4 and now 6x6! Marketing gimmick! Remember that, you're getting only 12 million squares of colour, not 450 million!

Jesus, Samsung is so cringe. Neither Omnivision or Sony have made phone sensors over 64MP, but their best ones being 50MP, 48MP and 12MP, taking into account that the 50MP and 48MP is just for that 8K marketing. So what really is Samsung trying to beat here? Theyre having marketing wars with themselves after making those useless 108MP and 200MP for their flagships when a 12MP would perform much better or a 48MP would fulfill everyone's needs. But no, they have to keep pumping those numbers up like more = better. At this point I think only their most hopeless fanboys will fall for that marketing scam. 200MP is already useless and ridiculous

These new sensors can't beat Nokia's 41mp of colour information. Only isocell hmx comes close

Ved, 26 Jul 2022Try Bigger camera sensor for more light not meagapixelNot possible. It means larger lens, huge camera protrusion (just as ugly as Xiaomi did on 12 Ultra). Even sensor size has its limits for phones, and using anything more than 1" type is obscure. I would not even want the 1".
