Google on the other hands seems only knows how to implement password based security.
That's why they ask every 72 hours to enter password even if you have configured fingerprint and face unlock.
They told that it is for user so that they don't forget the password.
But reality is they knows that their fingerprint/face unlock is not that much secure.
Otherwise they would have put options in settings to disable this or allowed the user to change time duration when password is required again like after 1 week.
Using android seems using a phone before the biometric security era.

If cost really is the issue, then Google really should've gone with a power-slash-fingerprint sensor button nstead of an absolutely subpar under-display one. Xiaomi does this on their lower tier phones, and they pretty much never had an issue with it (at least, on ones with flagship grade chipsets anyway.)

At this point Google is already becoming massive meme in the mobile phone realm. I mean everything they do is crap. Every new release has muktiple issues. Their chipset is aboslute trash, their cameras are horribly outdated, FP issues and never ending screens flaws. If you by Google phone at this point thats mean you like to suffer :)

Good old google, still managing to miss massive obvious cock ups, makes you wonder if they EVER check their code on an ordinary production,non-developers device ?
Google ripped off HTC and stole HTC's developer team etc for a measly $1b,having had a big hand in bankrupting HTC in the first place, and what have they been allowed to produce, the awful pixels, some nice hardware(done by ex HTC folk) ,but let down by awful software (done by google).
In all their life,HTC never managed to make cock ups like Google do on a regular basis.
Has there been one Pixel so far that's not had software problems ?

When iphone X was out, people were ... moreThere is just one difference. Fingerprint scanners have been out for how many years now? Fingerprint scanner being slow or having issues years ago (in the beginning) was forgivable. Not being able to make fast and reliable fingeprint scanner now is just lame and incompetent. Pixel 6 scanner had slow and still is slow fingerprint scanner. Pixel 6a scanner is just broken apparently. How many devices had actual reliable secure face unlock before iPhone X ? Also what is the chance of having a twin? People have twins, but it's just not an issue. I mean, what are the odds you have an evil twin that wants to misuse your phone?
This is among many reasons why I have hard time deciding for a Pixel phone. When first party, literally the maker of the worlds most widely used mobile OS can't get this s**t done right, that's quite telling. Like, come on. Apple on the other hand has pretty much perfected FaceID. Sure, it has issues, but so do fingerprint scanners. You need to pair all 10 fingers if you really want seamless no compromise control, it's hard to do it with dirty hands, positioning of the scanner can be clumsy, especially if it's on the back or side etc. Just like FaceID that has some issues with twins or the angle of scanning or phone orientation (although this was addressed on newer models).
