Qualcomm all but confirms that the Galaxy S23 series will use only Snapdragon chips

28 July 2022
This could extend to future series too, as Samsung is reorganizing the Exynos division and (allegedly) trying to build a better chipset from scratch.

Problem here is its not going to happen people buy Samsung crap and Samsung will still be dominant manufacturer into 2023, its just reality, but I wish it would be different. Sinse s10 all S lineup is just a,bad joke. With miniscule improvments over a years competition definitely not worse in most cases are definitely better. But Samsung is like Apple, they established their name and people buy their crap no matter what.

Because I had 7420 and it was working fine. Well for the rest is true Snapdragon was leading exynos chipset especially in latter years, where it was better in gpu and cpu performance.

Anonymous, 28 Jul 2022No thanks. Keep your beloved and better MediaTek yourself. ... moreHaving said that,I used dragon only for last five six years, Mediatek is no slouch. Used phones with Dimensity 900,920,1200,1300,8100,9000. Dimensity 8100 and 9000 are great chips compared to dragon 888 and 8 gen 1. 8+ gen 1 marginally ahead.

Qualcomm has tied up with TSMC for even more years. I don't see S series getting Exynos till 2025 till they develop very good chip with the help of Intel/Apple engineers. They just need Qualcomm/Mediatek/Kirin engineers and they will develop their own chip.

They'll use snapdragon only and then underpower it for thermal reason.

Good for Samsung, shoving their subpar inhouse chips down EU and Asia users throat was really hurting their image.

My next phone s23 will be Samsung if it's made from Qualcomm TSMC.

This is good news. Samsung can fine tune the Wxynos platform completely. It already had a lot of things before tts Snapdragon counterpart. It needs to fix all the little issues, ans also ensure that Exynos leads thr way in SoC design and performance.
It is a good time to pick up engineers from Apple, Intel and Snapdragon. Maybe even a few from Mediatek.

Samsung's blood probably drained from their faces seeing the SD8+ Gen 1's performance, it being made by TSMC. This chip's thermal and performance advantage is what Snapdragon chips were historically supposed to have, and if the SD8 Gen 2 will also be from TSMC, Samsung will not be able to make a chip that can match the Snapdragon in performance without physically melting.

Apple's SoC just can't be beat easily, even when QC is now releasing 2 versions of their SoCs in a single year. Apple deciding to make their own chips in-house way back in 2010 paid off big time today. I still want to see them get defeated in some way though, just to keep Apple on their knees and prevent them to go the Intel route of not doing anything while being ahead of everyone else.

Everything works as it should with no issue, I've not always had that with premium phones. Had bad issues with Sony, Huawei, Apple and LG in the past, never had a problem with a Samsung phone. My "big bucks", which actually aren't because I got a very good discount, are very wisely and safely spent.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 had problems with battery consumption and heat
The Exynos 2200 was much better with only a small difference in performance
                                      That doesn't matter
The Exynos 2200 chip can run all the software and games that the Qualcomm chip can run.
Qualcomm also has a naming problem for its chipsets
                                      Snapdragon 865 to Snapdragon 888
