Qualcomm all but confirms that the Galaxy S23 series will use only Snapdragon chips

28 July 2022
This could extend to future series too, as Samsung is reorganizing the Exynos division and (allegedly) trying to build a better chipset from scratch.

      Finally

I'm using an Exynos 2200 powered phone and it's honestly fine. Doesn't heat up too much and is very snappy in everyday use. Camera quality is just fine too. It's not as bad as some people would have you believe.

Samsung is so huge that it alone contributes to 20% of South Korea's GDP.

                Let's see.

Man a powerful company with all those resources cant make a competitive in-house SOC

Sammy churns out a ton of stuff and see what sticks it seems the quantity over quality

Their storage is top notch though

Appliances are hit and miss too

Cameras sensors are hit or miss too

Samsung not really an overall consistent company

Are you tell me UK will FINALLY get SD instead of crapxynos . I must be dreaming . I'm only joking Exynos isn't even that bad as people make it out to be. Some test SD outperforms Exynos and some test Exynos outperforms SD .

AnonD-1033007, 28 Jul 2022That's good news for S series. What i don't like ... moreNot if their Midrange Exynos chips change and perform like a Flagship one. Like using the Exynos 2200 a flaghship Exynos to premium to midrange phones, without increasing the handset prices.

That's good news for S series. What i don't like is that it seems that Samsung will put Exynos in low-range and mid-range phones. If they do that, well that sucks.

But this victory of Qualcomm is short lived. Just for two years, after than Samsung will pose a threat to Qualcomm. They had a bad habit of monopoly, but Samsung won't let it happen.

I wonder if Samsung will retain their AMD partnership for the Xclipse GPU in future Exynos SoCs. It does have some huge potential for mobile gaming.

Seems that Samsung might lose a lot of terrain. No in house fabbed chips, no in house phones with their chips...
Samsung might fall next year hard and Apple take that crown easily. Meanwhile Realme and Xiaomi might take more and more Samsung's market to themselves.

Units shipped to Africa also have Exynos chipsets.
