Most countries subsidize the weaker players so they can compete. Only in India do they remover the competition so the weaker players don't have to compete.

Why India don't have any better mobile companies. If Chinese companies have to be banned India have to be better than them in making better products.

That will price those phones 159$ and earn more profit while Indian people have to pay more for the same spec.

[deleted post]Your typical redmi will come at $400 if all Chinese brands get banned. Think about what you guys can make there, rather than getting overly patriotic which imo is quite wrong

AnonD-1060675, 09 Aug 2022Because we want to give a chance to our local manufacturers 😒They would die anyway, because they can't compete on a free market. In the end, it would end the same way as always - in protest of the move people would boycott Lava and Micromax.

                      Very very good thing

This is such a foolish and embarrassing move to ban Chinese devices under 12k inr. If the government wants to give local companies a chance at getting into the market they should help these companies to produce devices better than the Chinese ones and that's not possible as Indian mobile phones are no where near offering a good software and hardware experience when you compare it to a Chinese mobile phone which isn't very great at either

Every country should eliminate their reliance on foreign nations.

This is absurd. If you have to ban the competition to make your own products sell, that just means your products are crap. Instead of banning products, they should try making better products or offer better prices on their products so that people will willingly buy your products instead of being interested in the competition.

Very bad move, unless people come out of Sheep(Sleep) mode it will be too late. If local brands were good enuf, they would sell like hot cakes against competition. This shows how impotent local brands are. Ultimately its the consumers(buyers) who will lose out, while local brands will put cheap Chinese parts and sell and continue to fool these fake nationalists.

They will launch phones just above 12000 and enticing enough so that people will buy them no matter what.

this has both advantages and disadvantages because china phone offer many specifications are within the budget of middle and lower class people of India and if government this step it will effect china financially as they are earning billions of dollars in this sector so maybe the government is planning to promote make in India initiative and hit China economically

Indian phone maker company: ".........ok lets price all $150 phones to $151."
