Back in the day there were not even durability tests because all phones were durable and could take a fall all day and yet continue to work without any issues. And yes, far ago moto made the best phones with shatterproof tech. And since I used to have one back then I can tell that they definitely are better than any version of glass today

From 2007-2011 was arguably the most creative time in mobile history. The last few years of Steve Jobs' life.
I've seen Michael Fisher abuse his foldables and Victus has really held up well for them. I do find the irony. When iPhone 4 was first announced in 2010, many people praised it for its design. But when more Android OEMs started copying that especially Sony in 2013 with the Xperia Z, eventually more people hated it.
I never cared for glass backs myself. I don't mind going back to plastic in hoping we get removable batteries back.

Famous Jerryrigeverything aka Zac Nelson words: Glass is glass and glass will breaks.
Buy a screen protector, panzer glass, 9H or 5D it doesnt matter it does a lot better job than expensive gorilla glass where you need to replace whole screen anyway.
Problem solved.
By the way best protection was invented by Motorola it was called a shatterproof screen ro glass. Did a lot better job than any Gorrila Glass since 1 up to a Victus plus.
Lastly Nokia 3310 of the old times had no gorrila glass no UIP resistance no toher cerfitication and survived even most horrible things several people did with their phone.
And it was perfectly working even when was forgotten in wash maschine, dropped from construction site or tossed away as a rock to a guys head which made us very angry today.
In other words it survived everything even without a case.
Not many phones could do that then and no phone especialy touch phone could do that nowdays.

$601+ = victus or victus + IP68
Also , should be forbidden to sell phones that lack NFC and still have microUSB.
Man few things NFC is useless gimmick many people still does not use for security reasons. Haxciking your card or phone is not an issue.
Micro USB yes or no it doesnt matter as many low end phones are cheap to made and used for most basic tasks.
Having a Niokia for 50 bucks with 800 mAh battery and fast charge USB-C 2.0 or above is pointless.
Whole IP certifcation is nothing just costly useless gimmick. 2 months ago Samsung in Australia got fined by 14 millions for missleading water resistance adds.
Since no phone manufacturer include water damage in regular warranty whole IP protection makes no sense. Book case is good enough (Nobody swims with his phone and no IP protection helps agains salt sea water) Besides most phones can withstand several rain drops. Nokia 3310 of the old times had no IP certification and could survive even half day in mud water. Just sayin.
Lastly whole GG protection like with IP resistance is nothing just an useless costly gimmick. Only good thing was a Shatterproof protection by Motorola company.
Gorrila Glass is costly and screen cost a lot to repair and anyway everybody or most people will peel of the first foil on a screen and install panzer glass or a 5D or 9H screen protector which does same tricks as Gorrilaglass but much cheaper.
On sites like wish or alliexpress anyone can buy 100 pcs for 10 bucks just for example.
And it will works the same way but a ot cheaper.
Lastly famous words from Jerryrigeverything Glass is glass and it will breaks.
Having one GG Victus plus and nothing else or a typical 9H screen protector along with ordinary screen. Rather will go for ordinary screen and a screen protector. Two glasses breaks harder than just one. And most people use book case or so which also protects the screen of the phone.
End of story.

Yes its costly and its protective it does its job but any glass or panzer glass screen protector bought from alliexpress does sametricks for much less.
Having r not having GG on a phone is not an issue as long as i can put a screen protector on it. And i dont mean thin foil but regular glass with Hardeness of 9H or 5D as is somewhere called or above.

Gorilla glass is fine but you need to use a glass screen protector anyway. Otherwise you will get nothing but scratches.

FatShady, 14 Aug 2022plastic back is much better, its cheaper and less heavy.I like the feel of alloy. Plastic is fine too, though, some satin or microtouch finish at best.

Every new version of GG is more fragile than the previous one. In the end people put screen protectors on the precious and expensive glass screen, so why all the fuzz?
Make screens more resistant to cracking again, give us alloy back again, and go to hell with GG.

And talking about microUSb, not sure why you conveniently omitting BBB is the biggest offender and instead only aiming at Xiaomi like you always do. Starting to suspect you are working for BBK
