Four Pixel 7 models certified by the FCC: two with mmWave, two with UWB

16 August 2022
It looks like two versions each of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Chances are that only the Pros will have UWB.

But are they going to have a modem that doesn't get terrible reception and drop calls all the time, like all three phones in the Pixel 6 series?

Stay away from Google Pixel when you are getting better experience at lower costs at times. From Motorola and OnePlus.

It's just minor changes they do in Reno series. But are pretty good. Not value for money, but really good phones. Oppo Reno 8 Pro Plus and Vivo X60/70/80 are really good phones. Oppo and Vivo should have been aggresive with pricing, they will kill Samsung in one shot. Nobody needs 4 years of Android updates.

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2022Dimensity 9000 does not have mmwave google needs in USA. ... moreFirst let them deploy mmwave. It's not widely deployed. Even CBand is not deployed by Verizon and AT&T widely. Just 40Mhz and 60Mhz. We are waiting for 100Mhz of CBand and only n41 and n71 has been deployed widely. Now in just two months, we will have CA between these two bands on NR and it will be beast. Most probably TMobile will have 40-50Mhz of n71 and it will be beast network by 2023 end with more rural sites planned. No need of Mediatek. Snapdragon 778G on Moto Edge 2021 is sufficient. If you want to buy good device for connectivity there are only three options.
                        1. Moto Edge 2021(399)
                        2. One Plus 10T(649 for pre-order for 256GB)
                        3. Moto Edge + 2022 for 649 for 512GB

Only use my 4a to "drive" my watch, but it's still good to have real world data. Not a phone guy, so no video or gaming, the rare song here and there, long texts, long emails and calls. Was looking at a 7 to 'drive' the soon to be released ticwatch. Had bad luck with less 'pure' os versions and wear os.

I bought a pixel 6 just to play with it at home, $10 data plan so when I want to take it out. I took my son to the park on a hot day and took my Pixel while my iPhone was at home charging before I went to work. I wanted to record videos of my son on the swing and it wouldn't record because it told me to wait until the phone cooled down. I didn't get to use the phone.
