Four Pixel 7 models certified by the FCC: two with mmWave, two with UWB

16 August 2022
It looks like two versions each of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Chances are that only the Pros will have UWB.

Glad I sold it, after bieng a pixel guy I'm never going back to them unless they go with TSMC for their chips.

And of course Google comes along and only wants to make money to collect those hot chips... so they want to compete with Apple, I don't think so.

If the 2nd-gen Tensor Is a measley 10% performance upgrade but with a 30-35%+ efficiency improvement, that's already an upgrade for most who decided to wait another year (like my wife if Google does the smart thing to offer a 512GB version of the 7; even if I have to get that straight from Google and nowhere else).

About a month before release and still nothing about the modem other than a Samsung model number that there is zero info on.

If they used the x65 modem I'd try the Pro out.

Tensor is amazing fast fluid powerful graphics. Speech to text best on any phone. Cannot wait to see what Google brings to the table with Tensor 2 and the Pixel 7👍🏽

4 models, they want to compete against Apple, that's fine, but compete with a Snapdragon 8gen 2 with the node that everyone wants, or send the production of a new tensor to TSMC, now the pro or ultra model of those 4 models may well bring the gen 1 plus... That would be a safe purchase on my part, it's more give me the dimension 9000 whatever, minus a melted processor under Samsung

Keeping the price similar and bringing camera improvements is the only way to go for Google. Pixel has lost its charm last year due to Tensor chipset. Rest everything is fine.

I know that this was expected.
But I have seen that actually there's not MUCH difference between them!

The problem is with ARM's design!

Samsung's foundry has poor yields, but the SoCs themselves are not much different than TSMC, when using the same ARM architecture/design.

Comparing SD 8 gen1 (Samsung) and SD 8+ gen1 (TSMC), the difference is very big, both in performance and battery consumption.
