Anonymous, 21 Aug 2022Now list the things that android did first, apple fanboyI'm not an Apple fanboy, nor an Android one.
I use Android since the Note 3. I liked the stylus and its features, this being the main reason for buying the Note series instead of ANY Android phone.
Also, I liked the Continuum concept brought by Nokia, but killed short time after.
In terms of design, I liked very much Blackberry Passport. But it died, also.
What was the most stabile thing on the market? iOS, of course.

iOS is an OS built only for Apple phones, tested and re-tested and, finally, being very well optimized for this devices. Android, on the other hand, must run on very different devices, with very different hardware and very different specifications. A unique OS running on different devices leads, obviously, to instability issues, compatibility issues, and, after all, troubleshooting - no matter what device is it (being Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi etc.).
iOS is designed to run only on Apple devices. A single OS running on a single device could lead to issues in very rare cases, most of them being caused by the users and the app developers.

There were times when the price tag was kept up by Apple devices (called iDevices). Now, this has gone, flagships having similar price tags (look at the Fold series, for example). Therefore, holding an iPhone in the hand don't make you a wealthy person.

On the other hand, there are apps written especially for the Apple ecosystem, e.g. photo-video apps, music production apps, designing apps.

And, being a so-called "close" ecosystem, Apple is less prone to security issues, unlike Android.

That's why I will switched to the Apple ecosystem.

Apple got lost into woke movement and political sides, it does not care about technology anymore. They are now concerned with unisex colors, or fitting pronouns in the notifications and the voice of Siri to please the trans, to please China and remove Made in Taiwan.

                Sept 7 2022 The new King's arrival.
Copycats will have their notepad ready.. furiously jotting down notes.

Let's look at the impact iPhones had on androids over the years.
                1. iPhone 1 3G 3GS (Steve ballmer laughed at iPhone.. windows mobiles died shortly after.. with nokia)
                2. iPhone 4. (Every android begin the resolution war.. non stop.. even if their performance is impacted.. still increase resolution that have no effect)
                3. iPhone 5. (Every android now look like remote controls)
                4. iPhone 6. (Every android strive to have that protruding camera.. Xiaomi make the frying pan ads joke.. soon join iPhone also.. protruding their own camera..)
                5. iPhone 7. (Every android started laughing at the jackless iPhone.. before joining iPhone in killing their jacks.. in the meantime.. Windows Phone died a second time)
                6. iPhone 8 / X (Android finally realise how to convert their 3 button to a single line for multitask without a physical button)
                7. iPhone XS / XR (Android.. especially Samsung cannot win FaceID.. so they promote their underscreen fingerprint scanner.. that require a "hole" in your screen protector to work properly)
                8. iPhone 12 (Android phones now looks like spider eyes with that 3 camera arrangement.. Samsung saw Apple have no charger and make Ads to ridicule them.. follow without their own charger the next year)
                9. iPhone 13 (Android have no choice but to put 120, 144hz into everything.. plus include 50W charger... 100W charger.. then put a large battery just to keep up.. because their CPU consume 3 times as much battery as a typical A15 chip)

Nick Tegrataker, 18 Aug 2022I know I'm being a bit lazy here, but a minor inconven... moreOn the surface that would appear to be the case, as you have described it though that added convince would be practically minimal. You'd still be reaching over to interact with said FPS.

If it is an under display reader well they are still not up to the performance levels of the 'older' capacitive type, and can be quite fussy with finger placement and what not, so no real benefit there. If it is a capacitive type then with modern design language it could only be a side or rear mounted unit. Again no real benefit for the use case you are describing.

Look I wouldn't be complaining if this ever happens, given the added cost and complexity though versus the minimal boost to convenience it would offer, I can understand why it hasn't, and won't for some time yet.

I'm using an Android as I type this out, yet I'm not even close to having issues navigating around iOS? You speak as if you are representative for the majority of people who used both Android and iOS, yet somehow can't navigate properly on a very simplistic UI. Sounds like a "you" problem which is far from the "truth" your opinion holds.

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2022he clearly doesnt have a clue Android is more complex, and... moreI get what you are saying but I wouldn’t necessarily agree there is much of a feature disparity between iOS and Android. iOS has historically had a much more simplistic ui sure. That has been both a pro and a con but in terms of OS features they are pretty much even.

I used many Androids before picking up my first iPhone, and I have never noticed anything outside of wasting time constantly, endlessly and ultimately pointlessly customising the launcher (I had a template saved in action launcher that I set up once and was always my go to) or running emulators (another pointless endeavour) that I couldn’t achieve on the iPhone.

If you listen to usual taking heads that keep popping up on every Apple related article this site throws up though, then there is nothing iOS can do and nothing Android cannot do.
I’d say the only simplicity on show is in such peoples level of thinking.
