-Trix-, 18 Aug 2022"It's all about choices. There are some instances... moreI have the regular 13 Pro. The table I have in my room is a bit tall so whenever I lean back on my chair the angle becomes too deep for my iPhone to scan my face, which means either I'll have to pick it up or lean forwards to unlock it.
It's a minor inconvenience that has built up on me and started to make me feel quite annoyed, it's especially noticeable when I have another phone for personal use (my iPhone is almost strictly for work) that is equipped with an on-screen FPS and doesn't have this issue.

SShock, 18 Aug 2022I never lift my iPhone up when on table and it still recogn... moreFor example, when I lean back (even slightly) on my chair, the angle becomes way too acute for Face ID to recognise my face. A large in-display FPS would be definitely a nice-to-have feature in this kind of situation as I would just have to tap somewhere on the lower half of the display and the screen would unlock instantly.
In case you're concerned about the usability of the in-display FPSs - they used to be slow and sometimes struggle to read fingerprints in a consistent manner, but Qualcomm's new generation FPS used on Vivo and Sharp is extremely fast while managing to maintain great accuracy and security.

People Mentalities and the technology :
1. Some people can afford it and need/want it then they buy it,
2. Some people can afford it but don't need/want it then they don't buy it (here, they have their reasons),
3. Some people can't afford it then they can't buy it even though they need/want it.
4. Some people can't afford it and they don't need/want it
Apple fan guys can be any of the above 2 but make sure you are not the third one when you are opposing or arguing with an Apple fanboy

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2022I have XR as well and there are situations where FaceID is ... moreiPhone 12 and 13 have even wider angle FaceID detection and it seems to use neural engine shenanigans to better recognize things under unusual angles as well as allegedly deal with face masks even if you don't use Apple Watch. I have the watch and haven't tried the newer models so I can't exactly comment how much better it is...

Very likely it is, because you kind a have "mask" on in your situation by covering the part of your face which Face ID need to see.

Most annoying one for me is laying in bet on my stomach and the phone is on the floor, with part of my face covered by my mattress. I wonder if the iPhone 12 with that FaceID with mask functionality is better in that regard.

Not experiencing this. Phone can be left or right and it will see me. I don't really understand how it can work from such a wide angles. Also there isn't camera which need to see you or be in box of camera view, it uses IR dots and TrueDepth camera which measure your Face. I can unlock my iPhone from very wide angle and if i put front camera on only it sees is small part of top of my head in bottom of the screen 😅

Ads? In a few apps which many people even don't use (news, sport, etc.) So, please, don't lie about "everywhere". You got balls to accept your mistake?

- still no... more- Same design from 4 years ago -- Yeah cause the world needs a slightly different looking rectangle every year
- still notch or 2 big hole -- well it uses the face ID system so it's kind of expected
- get ready for ads everywhere -- wait your getting confused with Android now.
- no type C?? -- Well duh!!!!, and so what, iPhone users will have to make do without a connector they have never used with an iPhone anyway 🤷♂️
- A15 non Pro -- Not the most exiting news I'll grant, but the A15 is still more than good enough to say the least.
