This is what happens when you prioritize profit over anything else. And these companies with their leaders preach us to protect the environment.
Why don't put an 12-16-20mp sensor that needs less processing power and less miniaturization processes?!

While I do despise chasing pixels instead of using sensors with larger pixels the Motorola results looked decent. And that was a gsm post from another social media post.

So the 200mp or more balanced 50mp mode from it does seem a little more promising. At least compared to what we have been getting the past few years.

Aleandro Sale, 20 Aug 2022200mp is a joke, that was a gimmick. Even Real DSLR with po... moreClearly you do not know about how computationa photography works or not even how photography itself works...

If an image has more pixels, the noise is lower because you have more PPI ( pixels per inch of real viewed image ).

Let's say you take a photo of a chair, same size same lens, 10MP image vs 100MP image, the second one is going to give you at same base iso less grainy because the grain would be more subtle distributed on the individual pixels, and less random noise would be seen, 10MP would have more apparent noise (always trying to compare same scenario and relative sensor sizes and optics).

200MP Is not a gimmick same it wasn't the 108MP previously developed, I'm comparing the Vivo X80 Pro i just bought to my old Xiaomi Mi 10, and i have to say i am not that impressed i was expecting more difference in quality and the only thing i see is downgrade in definition and yea amazing HDR though and probably the phone with less lens flare of the market ( worst is the crapIphone ).

All being said, 200MP can use binning which i think is just great, low light situation will use binning and benefit from massive pixel-count and sensor size, while HDR shots can also benefit from better bracketing ( remember pixel binning also allows multiple exposures in a single shot ).

For me it is all benefits, but if you ask me i would rather have a big bug good 41MP or 24MP like the Nokia 808 or Lumia 950XL had.

[deleted post]Because alternatives are literally s**t with things I care about and Apple is like absolute top notch? Why wouldn't I praise that? Then again, if you'd actually read anything I say, I also praise Samsung for things I like with Apple (software support) and I often also mention Xiaomi which, despite being pretty bad at it, is still among the best when it comes to Chinese smartphones.

So, how am I this massive mega Apple fanboy again?

200mp is a joke, that was a gimmick. Even Real DSLR with powerfull lenses just need 20 up tp 32mp to have a great capture. For daily use 200mp its just for gimmick, rarely use. Even u just post in your instagram/FB or Tiktok doesnt need 200mp 😂 . People just need cleary and stabil video for daily use photography in mobile.

That is how they attracted people to buy their products at first. And in a way was logical, they didn't had the first ideas, didn't had the name for themselves, so they needed to start from something.
Of course, now they evolved too and they make some nice products (when they really want to). But, at first, it was more of a copy-paste business.

Huawei was put into the list because its 5G equipments were cheaper and more readily available compared to those from Nokia, Ericsson and other western companies that the US government can put under control if by any chance, and could potentially dominate the market. The US doesn't care about Huawei as a company at all (In fact, all divisions apart from Hisillicon and telecommunication equipments are still alive without any restriction, although the mobile division got affected severely by the former).

They were caught adding backdoors and straight up spying on government officials as well as workers of competing companies. That's what got them banned, not because of their progress was too fast. No one cared about any of that until they got caught. Guess who didn't get caught of doing that? All other Chinese brands that keep on operating worldwide and they all exploded in popularity. Just look at Xiaomi. They used to be a no name Chinese brand that gained quite some reputation and market share and they are still not banned anywhere? So, your argument really doesn't hold any water.

is easier to bump some marketing numbers than actually increasing the sensor physical size for better pics, can't believe what my favorite smartphone company has become in the last 2-3 years
