S Yu, 01 Sep 2022First time ever I came across the concept "1K=FHD"You know it is start becsue 2k cannot be 1920x1080 so lower number tjan 2 is 1 so 1k It is because in the past 1k 2k 3k or 4k didn't exist someone labeled 2k when 2k monitors emerged.. So many people in the world asked where is 1k 🤷‍♂️
In the past there was
Hd =720p didn't invent any other labels
Fhd=1080 didn't invent 1k short
Qhd=1440 but they invented 2k short
Uhd=2160 also invented 4k short
So that's why you hearing it first time.
Also all these resolutions are mainly based on aspect ratio because monitors has been manufactured 16:9 not old style 4:3
So all these 16:9 resolutions needed to be corrected for wide - screen
Hd 720 - original resolution =1280x1024
Fhd 1080 - original resol. =1920x1200
Qhd 1440 - orig 2560x1600 and 2560x2048 also known 2k
Uhd 2160 orig 4096x2016 to make wide-screen must be corrected to 3840x2160

    Anonymous, 30 Aug 2022no one forced any chinese phone brands to use USA technolog... moreOh, some more necessary clarifications:
    1.Huawei did *not* invent 5G.
    I didn't even get that from Huawei drones. Huawei holds about 20% of 5G SEPs, and a larger proportion of non-essential patents because they tend to file patents without much substance.
    2.Huawei was *not* the first with a proper camera, it was Apple, with the iPhone 4, unsurpassed for quite a few years. Huawei was also *not* the first with dual camera(Project Tango), and *not* the first with zoom(discounting the retractable Samsung S5 Zoom, Asus Zenfone Zoom).
    They're also not the first in a number of realms where they claim to be first, because they have the bad habit of announcing very early and shipping late, generally yielding the actual title of No.1 to Apple.

      Anonymous, 30 Aug 2022No. It is USA watching Huawei getting stronger and stronger... morePopular conspiracy theory among Huawei fanb--s. If that were the case, why did the US allow the Japanese car industry to singlehandedly destroy Detroit then?
      Fact 1: Huawei sold to Iran against sanctions.
      Fact 2: What gets to Iran ends up in the hands of the Polar Bear, as recent news clearly indicates.
      Huawei is a security threat to the west and they've demonstrated lack of cooperation in fixing security "flaws", or whatever nature they may be, as documented by UK security reports. They either play the game, and follow the rules, or they start their own game. They're unwilling to go with the former, so the US is forcing them into the latter, there will be consequences for both sides.

        Anonymous, 30 Aug 2022no one forced any chinese phone brands to use USA technolog... moreDelirious. Huawei raked in hundreds of billions over the past decade owing to the Party's grip on China's massive market. The Party, among many other questionable methods, directed China's state-owned carriers to continuously infuse Huawei with cash through rigged tenders in which Huawei can successfully bid despite a higher asking price on every aspect. This includes the rollout of 5G to the merit of nobody but Huawei, the carriers were dragging their feet for as long as possible (actively announcing 4G investments just as the state media was trying to portray 5G as revolutionary) until the ban came down and the Party pressured them to heavily invest in 5G in order to keep Huawei's balance healthy. Now they need to find ways to have consumers pay the bills, and consumers are not very enthusiastic.
        Current 5G is expensive, inefficient, and hardly any faster than properly invested 4G(ask HK and SK customers who actually enjoy the top speeds 4G has to offer), and carriers know that. Now that China's 5G investment has reached a plateau, you see Ren's "winter is coming" speech, so that's what Huawei's made of.
        I don't think they're actually in any trouble though, Ren's speech seems more of a money-begging nature to Party Central and an excuse for layoffs of old employees (to make room for cheap graduate labor, as typical Huawei) than an actual warning, they still have a lot of cash lying around. Huawei is the Party's pet and will remain flashy on the outside for as long as necessary, just like how, despite large swathes of China's central south grinding to a halt from lack of hydroelectricity due to the recent heat waves, you never see Beijing having any power outages. The Party will do everything in their power to keep Beijing's lights on, until their last breath.

It's recycling device over and over add 1 or 2 features then add more price. Your too shallow to notice that one, clearly a stereo type of fan. Huawei almost beats Samsung before it was banned and USA did a precautionary step to avoid it. Huawei > Samsung

                -Trix-, 29 Aug 2022” Really notch ??? What for ????” Are you really asking?... moreMy Honor 20 also do face recognition very well that too perfectly and instantly without any of that nonsense notch, so don't tell me please

                  I have a Huawei Mate 30 Pro (5G) which I have managed to install Google Services. I have the phone since 2019.
                  No bugs, no lags, no random reboots ...
                  Kirin 990 (5G) chipset.
                  Constant updates and support now for Harmony OS. Battery for 2 days. And some very good photos with lenses signed by Leica... and all of these features on a Mate 30.

                  I don't even want to imagine what the 50 would have been like without any kind of ban for Huawei.

Smaller chinese companies which don't pose a threat to USA economy or welcome of course.

                                Samsung user, 30 Aug 2022No one forced any chinese phone brands to use USA technolog... moreno one forced any chinese phone brands to use USA technologies? you know that the chinese, oh sorry i mean taiwanese, company TSMC is the largest semi-conductor manufacturer in the world and it is in USA's hands? if china takes taiwan back, the USA can forget their so-called american technology.
                                Moreover, huawei has its own OS, it is called HarmonyOS, it is partly based on android and it is open-source. huawei was designing its own chips, called kirin chips, they were manufactured at TSMC. but trump realized the might and greatness of huawei, so he had to enforce measures to protect apple from being eliminated in global market. samsung's chips called exynos were always known for being inferior to other chips like qualcomm's, while kirin chips were known for being efficient and reliable. samsung is now switching fully to qualcomm chips from tsmc for the next flagships. you say samsung would be far better than huawei because it produced its own parts. well, huawei did it and does it too, but samsung can't reach the quality level of huawei.
                                huawei isn't a mediocre company, it is one of the strongest in the world.
                                samsung has over 200 billion dollars revenue. huawei has over 100 billion dollars revenue, wich is extremely good considering the sanctions it had to suffer from. moreover, most patent applications in europe were made by huawei, samsung is second. huawei invests 22 billion dollars in r&d to beat US sanctions.

                                because huawei is currently not very good in smartphone market due to US sanctions it doesn't mean it is a weak or mediocre company. let's not forget that huawei invented 5G and was the first to put decent cameras into smartphones.
