oh okay huawei still exists. lol

Huawei's last good phone was mate 40 pro and mate xs2 somewhat ok, but this thing is a joke from 2019.

      Well done Huawei

Brave move to admit that underscreen fingerprint scanners sucks. I'm surprised it took this long, but i guess better late than never.

        Huawei please don't poke deads'

With Apple moving away from the notch, Huawei bring it back to life .. lol .. Huawei thought when they moving backwards, they're going to get GMS back.

Guess I will keep my Mate 40 Pro while eying for Xiaomi 12s.

Is this the only new non-Apple phone with a big notch? I like it aggressive like this, more than a silly little hole or that Samsung v-shaped notch thing.

                    „QHD (wrongly named 2K)“

                    Why wrong?

Not too confident about the 8 gen 1. It's apparent that EVERY device with 8 gen 1 overheats Severely... Don't know why Huawei didn't go with 8+ gen 1?? Even better perhaps a kirin processor? If they can control the heating issue with 8 gen 1 then it's worth buying. If not then might aswel wait for the vivo x80 Pro Plus, which is also a camera beast & will be announced in September with the 8+ gen 1. Thoughts anyone? 🤔

I can't stop laughing, the irony. Apple getting rid of the notch while Huawei is bringing it back.

captain fokou, 29 Aug 2022Considering they cannot appeal to the mass market anymore I... moreThey design own SoC already, but having semicon factories takes too much much mney and time.
Not even Apple waste money having own factories.

It seems that a thinner notch will intrude less into the display area compared to a hole punch. I would give it a plus.

Apple is gradually ditching the notch, while copycat Androids adopting it... :-)

Considering they cannot appeal to the mass market anymore I think this is a good move because now they can showcase their advancements property(notch for more space, not the biggest camera to showcase the next generation dual aperture technology).
The way I see huawei in the future is either making their own chip factories and developing socs from scratch orc providing their mobile services and selling patterns and blueprints to other companies like Nokia, TCL, Lenovo, honor, Meizu, zte and other smaller companies(umidigi, doogee etc).

                                      oneplus user might be right...
for saying "if that mate 50 gets 2019 style notch i will laugh"
