If Apple must still use a notch for Iphone 14, I think most users would prefer a smaller notch than ugly 'i' or pill cutout. Something like the notch on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro wouldn't be such an eyesore like a pill or 'i' cutout.

They should really just stick with the notch. With the long cutout now you have 1 or 2mm of screen between the cutout and the top edge of the phone and what can you even use it for?

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2022dont feel weird when suddenly u see lot phone looks like thatSamsung implemented pill shaped punch hole in 2019. Apple is the last company to follow samsungs screen design and use samsung manufactured punch hole display.
Many of other brands prefer to copy Samsung middle punch hole.

The combined Notch looks like Horizontal Tilak worn by some south Indians.
The separated notch ( coincidentally looks like an 'i' sideways) now look more better than this version.

Oh boy, it will be a lot of this rumours in the next week or so.
Thus being said, this pill shape looks better than the initial pill and hole shape.
But, I think the real nice iPhones and the ones to look forward to, will be the iPhone 15 series. If they will put Usb-C, decrease the charging time (at least to 60 minutes) and put another way of unlocking the phone (other than that stupid face id), then I might consider an iPhone again.
