Darknoor, 05 Sep 2022I never had issues with the speed as is on a phone with USB... moreIf you like to share your private data with cloud companies... Good for you.
I and most people that I know respect they privacy. If you read terms of use you will know that those companies are owners of your files. If they AI detects something in your files, it will get deleted. That's how it works.
If it's about USB 2.0 speed. Max speed that you can reach is 60MB/s. In reality it's much slower. While the game is in development we don't pay attention to the size. So our games can have 2GB and more. You can easily calculate that a 2GB file will transfer in ~33s with max speed. And that's the best case. Often there are many small files and the transfer duration reaches 5 and more minutes.
In personal use the case is the same. I remember when I downloaded my pictures and videos via USB. It took about 2h for only 25GB of data!!

And I do prefer it to cloud backups, which is the correct term.
The extra speed would be nice to have, but not a must-have by any means.

Darknoor, 03 Sep 2022So what? It is not that useful on a phone. A PC/laptop is ... moreGood joke. Of course it's useful. Average users don't know how to connect they phone via Wifi. So copying your data takes ages. Also when you are a mobile game developer you need to have a fast USB connection because Wifi is a no go in a bigger company.

... moreI suppose the 8 "X" marks on your comment just confirm that you're only speaking for yourself, which is 1 vote, not a million.
And I echo the same, kindly speak for yourself. Even today, wired holds its own presence in proper fle navigation and transfer..

This transfer rate can replace HDMI, yes? If so… TV needs this as USB cables are much easier to work with

All these nice speeds and so on but what does it matter when hardware with reading and writing speed wont catch up to it so there is no point of it.

Anonymous, 04 Sep 2022the physical port itself is still the same garbage USB type... moreUSB-C ports and connectors can be done right if the manufacturers spend the money. There were also many bad quality USB-A ports. Have you tried plugging in Apple cables for example into Apple USB-C Ports? excellent fit.

OhNom, 03 Sep 2022Dude you are confusing LPDDR5 with DDR5Surely not. I've studied if for days to sure about how ram and arc 2 memory system work. Specially the difference between low power and proper dimms.
As I said, low power arc 2 memory has mainly 4 bit wide data bus, thus the lpddr5 with 6400 GT/s has highest pc25600. Yeah ddr5 also has this bus speed but the bandwidth is twice more which is 51.2 GB/s..
Why why gamer always choose proper dimms than lpddr modules.
