Finally we can have DisplayPort 2.0 through USB-C

Anonymous, 02 Sep 20224.0 gen 2 .... Same way you have C3.2 gen 1 and gen 2 Yeah and 4x4 at the end or 2x2. Or whatever. USB 4 is kind of designation of generation, calling it Gen 2.0 is like calling it USB generation 4 generation 2.0. Makes no sense.

At this point, Intel should be developing Thunderbolt 5. It'd be interesting to see an eGPU enclosure that can fully utilize the whole 80 Gbps bandwidth.

                    You cannot slap a 16GB ddr5 inside a phone with SD680. Nor usb C 3.2 ..

The sad thing that manufacturers are just so lazy producing smartphones and other electronic devices with USB-C 4.0, UFS 4.0, UWB, ESIM, and minimum 100W charging. We are stuck in past.

My issue is the same as the other commenter: Calling it USB 4 Version 2.0 is dumb and will lead to confusion.

SShock, 02 Sep 2022I want to know the genius behind USB naming scheme... Why i... moreMain usage is TV out something like Samsung Dex.

Usb 3.1 has around 10GBPS and cab only produce 4k at 30fps

Samsung use Usb 3.2 in recent phones with 20Gbps you can get 4k at 60fps with this.

With more Bandwidth you can connect multiple monitor, Connect various accessories with dock, connect higher resolution display like 8K etc.

SShock, 02 Sep 2022I want to know the genius behind USB naming scheme... Why i... moreThere are enough devices that support 40Gbps, and many new TVs support 48Gbps

I want to know the genius behind USB naming scheme... Why is this called USB4 Version 2.0 instead of USB 4.2 ? WHY? Current generations of people really don't know the standard major.minor.build version numbering? One that has been used for decades at this point? I guess Google dumbified everyone with their Chrome version numbering, currently at 105 or so...

Also, everyone cheering this, are there even devices that support this speed standard?

And xiaomi/apple shipping phones that cost over $1000 with 2.0.
Capable of 0,5Gbps only and no external display.

                                    🤣😂
