Most people just connect, select and confirm. And then let it just go. Others don't care about wires at all, they go full wireless. I personally know no one using data cable to transfer huge amount of data.

Today many phones above $700 still have USB C - 2.0. What's disappointing is they're packed with a speedy internal storage with ufs 3.1, no expandable storage, and they slap in a tiny bottlenecked usb C - 2.0.
They're milking the usb C - 2.0 port cuz it's cheap af. Greedy companies man.

USB4 will have no version names, like USB4.1, 4.2 etc. It'll just be called USB4, speeds can he distinguished via logo, which will tell 40Gbps, 80Gbps in it. The idea was to make the latest standard naming simple to avoid confusion.
