Paying over 1000 for abetter midranger is ridiculous.
No latest CPU and GPU, laughlable 12 Mpx cameras and definitely worst chargng speeds of any touch phone of 2022.
50% in 30 minutes.
Even Redmi 9A can charge a lot faster and thats a mpre thsn 2 years old budget phone.

Sony is an amazing phone. Having the best display on market, one of the best camera with Zeiss optics and now with 5000 mah battery this phone gives best multimedia experience on market. No doubt

Truly stock android, truly bloatware free and truly great camera instead of the Sony's 'near stock' and 'almost bloatware free'. 5 years software and security updates instead of only 3. As a bonus, the Pixels' thermal management not great but still much better than the Sony's almost non-existent cooling.

You could get good magnification quality but have a giant range gap that's filled in with digital zoom and to avoid it, have many more lenses for those zoom ranges in between making the phone larger.

Or stick with one nice zoom lens and let digital zoom be.

Should have used a snapdragon 870 which has much better sustained performance than the 8 gen 1 and priced it around 650-700 dollars

I really like its size. Maybe not the fact that it is that narrow, looking like a remote control but I still prefer it to the modern day behemoths. I like its features too. Also the camera with the fantastic balance between detail retention and noise reduction. But! Way too pricey (keeping also in mind that sony prices never drop) and way too poor software update policy. Maybe if they commited to 4 android versions I would consider the hefty price tag.

It would've ben justifiable at its current price if it was 8+ Gen 1, but it isn't.

Small form factor, big battery, audio jack port, sd card port. So complete. But it comes with sacrifice: heat management

They seemingly squeezed in that huge battery by totally ignoring the need to cool the SoC.
Having owned a 1 ii and found it a buggy mess I can't justify spending the ridiculous amount of money Sony think their devices are worth.

Its nice but the price on these drops fast. no point buying at full price.. Sony needs to work on a true compact... its been too long.

Well it's pricey for just only 2 yrs of os updates there's a wide range of options available with lesser price and more os updates, it should be the norm of 4 yrs min updates for flagship phones I don't quite get why android phones which are the same level of an iPhone and the same price and sometimes even higher don't get the same treatment for software updates

I use the telephoto lens a lot on my phone so this would be a downgrade for me. I love the Xperia phones but this is a skip.
