Anonymous, 06 Sep 2022Where did you learn of this incorrect information from?I had a look at the Beidou thing.
It's pretty much global now. However, he was probably looking at Beidou-1 or -2, where the range was just China and Australia and everything between.

The only thing that stops most people to buy this outside china: lacks of gms. Where's the proud people here that said when harmony os was released, praised it that they didn't want to be spied by Google, love the competition, etc.? Right, they're gone. Big mouth and delusional, thinking that their daily live in their smartphones will be okay without Google. Truth is, it's hard to migrate to another ecosystem. And a phone can only have one.

How exactly is Huawei using a 5G capable chipset in their phone? Is this thing also running Google's stuff if they can do this? Just wondering, considering they have been restricted for so long...

Six-blade variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0? Count me in. That alone already got me tempted with Huawei's latest flagship. That said, periscope telephoto macro for the Porsche Design variant? I don't think I have ever seen any smartphone with such a capability.

Well, that settles it. This will definitely be able to keep up with whatever the iPhone 14 Pro Max can offer. Unless Apple does the same and steps up from 9 hours to 10-12 hours.

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2022They would all score less than 90h if gsmarena could test. ... moreGSMArena's P50 Pro used the SD888 and ran EMUI 12/Android 11, getting a lowly 76 hrs.
Technick's P50 Pro used the Kirin 9000, ran HarmonyOS 2.0, and traded blows with the iPhone 13 Pro Max in a battery test, both nailing 9 hours of screen-on time. For reference, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a battery rating of 121 hrs.
I am concerned about this phone's battery life, as it runs the SD 8 Gen 1. Not only does it run hot, but it's also strangely inefficient too. However, HarmonyOS 3.0 will clearly elevate the battery life to amazing levels. If I was robbed of GMS, I'd switch to HarmonyOS immediately just for the amazing battery life.
Everything else seems great. A shame that charging speeds haven't improved, but 66Ws is plenty.
