It was just bad chip design, but everyone always blames it on Samsung and when Qualcomm finally fixes their stuff and happens to do it on TSMC, everyone is cheering TSMC. Sure, their process node helps a bit, but it's entirely down to how chip is designed that really defines it. Remember, Qualcomm had several very hot chips in the past and they were all made by TSMC...

          The nearest competitor ISN'T slower than an a13 that's just nonsense. The 8 plus gen 1 is slower than an a15 but is nearing it at times

The problem with tensor/exynos rn is Samsung foundry's fault, if only Exynos and tensor could switch to TSMC. The dimensity 9000 was very good and was used in flagship phones like Vivo X80 pro and Oppo Find X5 pro in China.

                  I do wonder how much improvement ARMv9 would bring to A-series chipsets. They didn't bother to put it this year, so maybe next year together with N3 or N4P? Can't wait.

My point was more that it is never now I would expect Apple or any company to market such products or components They will always try to put a more positive and impressive sounding spin on things, this is just the way it’s done.




                      The clockspeeds we see in today's phone...i guess i am not that far when someday i actually see apple,qcom or mtk samsung any or everyone launching their flagships chipsets with 5ghz cpu or even beyond that.....😂😂

They already know they are way ahead of competition (not excusing rehashed iPhone 14), but they clearly say efficiency cores, the ones active most of the time have 1/3 of consumption of older ones. Here I'm not sure if they mean A15 or A13 since they compared it all to A13, but still, their focus was on efficiency this time around. Which is what we've been asking for ages from Exynos and also Snapdragon. Just stop jacking up clocks and MOAR POWAH and work on efficiency. Chipsets are already super fast, what we need is them lasting longer on same battery capacity.

                        We'll see how that works for A16, now that we know performance increase is relatively minimal.

                          I had to laugh when they said the competition are still working to catch up with the A13. I swear I could actually hear the global collective triggering of countless thousands of the android faithful.

Its still the king in sustainable perfomance and efficiency over its superior sd chips to date!!!! We dont need more raw power as even the adreno 650 is capable of running graphic demanding games constant around 56-60fps....

                                  Nearest competitor? The Dimensity 9000+ can reach 1300/4400 on Geekbench, and the 9000+ is even better, and the A13's average scores are 1300/3300.

                                    How does 2022 nearest competitor (8 gen +1) has worse performance than 2019 A13? Oh I think they only look at single core geekbench score.

Apple is doing about the same for years because Qualcomm is not able to deliver an efficient SoC, Exynos can’t even catch up to Qualcomm, Tensor is Exynos, and Mediatek is just not used in actual high end phones just their Dimensity 700-1200 in the mid range.
