Nokia 5800 Tube leaked again, gets XpressMusic branding

Not a fan of any brand, but Nokia seems to be headed for mediocrity this year. 5800 seems to be trying to compete with the likes of Omnia, Touch Pro, Xperia and Iphone 3g but would not commit to high-end features. I hope Nokia busts out the big guns with a high-end touch screen because this little kitty would just be run over by the big boys.

Dani , 28 Jul 2008i would still pick iPhone or SE W960i over this.....honestly, that's freaking crazy!
I would never pick an iphone over this one, although i already have one...
I'm a big time apple fan, but honestly nokia's tube has very high specs, that superceeds the iphone in every way possible...
Haptic feedback! now that's a really cool feature for a touch device....
Mid-range device ?!! yeah right !!!

There are way too many haters here. This is a midrange phone. Why compare it with the samsung innov8 or the omnia?
This phone has to be the most promising handsets i have seen in a long time. What more could you ask for?
1. It comes from the xpressmusic line (which means top quality music). It should be similar to 5310 or n81.
2. It comes with a 3.2 carl zeiss camera(its picture quality is comparable to the recent n78).
3. It comes with a symbian OS, which just happens to be the best around.
4. It comes with a high capacity battery.
5. It comes with a new and really high resolution display.
6. It comes with all connection options imaginable along with extras like gps.
7. It has an accelerometer.
I prefer this phone to omnia because the omnia's music quality wasnt very impressive when compared to music phones like 5310, plus it has symbian.
This phone doesnt seem to have any disadvantages (at the moment). I dont find it fat either (less than 15 mm thick). Im glad its coming soon. And this is supposed to be midrange? Crazy!
And abpout those arguing about n96 vs samsung primera, the only difference is only the camera and battery life. Nothing new. Just bigger megapixels and battery. The fact is that they are both symbian handsets. Incase you forgot, nokia owns symbian. So whichever is the king/whichever sells more, nokia benefits. Its just a matter of employing good business tactics. The samsung primera was just a smart collaboration by nokia and samsung.
And about nokia announcing a handset with 8 megapixels, It is coming soon. Im sure you all saw the n79 and n85 leaked photos. I can promise you they shall not come before nokia announces their 8 megapixel wonder. Nokia is just waiting for n96 to get into the market, which should be anytime from now.
By the way, this is just my opinion. Please do not bash me. Thank you.

oh yea...i think its safe to assume that TAT will implement their kastor UI on this phone...see no reason y nokia would buy a company and have them sitting down doing nothing. also if nokia wishes to improve its services as opposed to its hardware..i think GUI downloads manufactured by kastor could be sold over-the-air to persons wishing to buy them and install them in a similar way to a firmware update. and it is possible, check the n78. the GUI's could be crafted to suit specific ppl or purposes and i honestly believe it would be worth the money. either way..its my opinion once agen so XD flame away

for all those complaining and saying that this phone is a monster of a phone and can be used to bludgeon ppl to death u should really stop and think about what ur saying..according to very simple calculations the phone has a volume of 86.71 cc as opposed to 88.22 cc for the iphone 3g..given how thick the phone is noone would think it would take up less space than the iphone but this its true...do the math urself.. the phone is significantly less wide than the iphone and i have reason to believe that this is to further facilitate 1-handed use in all aspects of phone operation. the phone interface that all of you ppl seem to hate so much (me included) is almost the exact interface as that found on the e-series nokias which are mostly business use phones. its possible and quite likely that the interface shown is either a dummy to throw ppl off or simply the user interface used to test the final hardware of the phone before the addition of s60 5th edition which is probably in the final stages of development. either way this is only one man's opinion. plz dont flame me XD

The UI looks very bland, reminds me of the 9210. Hopefully Nokia have yet to dress it up!
same goes for the keyboard, Nice big buttons though, hope they stay!

phaseout, 28 Jul 2008Nokia is going downhill fast. How much longer do they think... moreDownhill? If anything, I don't see Nokia budging number two anytime soon, glass half full for Nokia. Glass half empty in your life by looks of it.

Hmmm i know it's supossed to be a mid-range phone but the interface is just plain ugly! and the phone itself its too fat , i'm dying to replace my n82 but seems ill have to wait longer, are the xenon flashes THAT expensive? cuz they keep resisting to include it :/ .... i liked the resolution and battery though =)
