qADEER, 16 Sep 2022I think Samsung's 200mp is cheaper than Sony's IMX766.Not sure where you got this idea from. Not all 200mp sensors are equal and Samsung has more than 1 so the price of the different sensor models will vary. I have checked replacement costs for the HP1 though and IMX766 on different manufacturer's websites and the HP1 is around double the price of the IMX766 (in China the replacement cost of an imx766 is around $30 versus $60 for a HP1). Of course the replacement cost will vary by manufacturer but a number of manufacturers have stated it's expensive. Basically it seems to cost similar to an imx707. Personally would far prefer an imx707 but cost wise the HP1 is not cheap. We don't know yet though if Xiaomi is using the HP1 or the cheaper HP3

So there is still a lot of smartphones available when you don't want a big smartphone, even the new Asus Zenfone, wich is a flagship in a compact size !

I was excited for the 12T Pro but with a price like this... almost double of a 11T Pro. It's also a variant of a rebranded Redmi K50 extreme edition, which is around 500 euros in China. Releasing a top-end redmi phone as a refresh of the 12 in europe just feels wrong.
