The glue today is there primarily to reduce repairability, and the excuse for it for the gullible buyers (any brand) is the water resistance...
I use an over thirty year old water resistant Omega, under 7mm thick (with an LCD covering most of the face under the hands under the Sapphire). I doubt that the gaskets still has the flexibility to protect it though - but it did back in time.

They basically have the architecture of the iPhone 4. With iPhone 14, both display and back are easily replaceable because all the other components are not mated to the display or the back glass, but a mid frame instead.

Can't have both ways. Modern flagships come with non replaceable batteries but they're slim. And we all know how much aesthetics matter to most buyers

Score is still 0/10 as most things are paired to the phone.......... ir just made it cheaper for apple to replace back glass, which then they will still charge you iphone 13 pricing for. Tldr Noting has changed the costumer is still screwed and apple will make money thats all.
